This team has a rookie QB with 20 picks, plus one today. This team doesn't really have a true #1 receiver. Keller may become an elite tight end in time, but isn't now. Edwards has the tools to be a #1 except he has stone hands. Cotch has good hands, but doesn't have the other tools to be a #1. However the team has a very good O-Line and 2 very good running backs. It's a team right now that's built to play running football right now. Maybe next year if they add a potential elite reciever that doesn't drop half his passes and with a year of seasoning for Sanchez it'll be different, but not for now.
Is anyone else getting sick of these threads that slam Schotti during the first quarter for crappy play calling. Come on man its the first quarter and when are you going to realize that this is the Jets offensive game plan to run it, be patient, and wear the opposing defense down while limiting the amount of throws for Sanchez. This opens up play action, minimizes interceptions by a rookie qb, and allows for the big run as the opposing defense gets worn down. I for one think Schotti's playcalling was solid tonite.
