Thank GOD!!! Most peeps here know what my stance is on this, god forbid I should be put into the predicament of the Jets ever coming here. http://www.nfluk.com/news/49ers-and-broncos-heading-for-london_150110.html
I like the positive spin in the last sentence about how successful these franchises are that conveniently neglects to mention that neither team has made the playoffs in the past 4 seasons, and that each team has won exactly one playoff game in the past 11 years. This game should be even less interesting than the previous ones. I'll root for the 49ers since that benefits the Jets, and ignore the entire thing otherwise.
Two shite franchises selected purely for the 1980's glory seeker fans out there. Keep the game in the states and let us decide who we want to travel to see.
Will probably go,got a freind who is a Broncos fan. There is meant to be a 2nd game as well, although it looks like talks for a 2nd game might of cooled.
The way things are going with this series, the second game might be Browns-Lions. No thanks. Not interested in 49ers-Broncos much, but I would go if it wasn't for the ridiculous transport back 'up north' from London. Last train to Chester is at about 9.30, from Euston, which is too tight considering the crush to get to the train station at Wembley after the game.
Yeah you'd probably miss that Train.I try and make a weekend of it,book Monday off from work and hit Camden the night before. However I won't be doing that twice this year,I do wonder how many people are going to be traveling twice to London. They should have the 2nd game elsewhere.
When I have gone before I got a national express coach down - they run special NFL ones to Wembley so everyone on there is an NFL fan, they drop you off and pick you up from the stadium - you dont get back until very late but its all good. I will be going as my mate (the only other NFL fan I know) is a niners fan - and its kind of cool as I saw the Broncos (v LA Rams) play in the American Bowl pre-season game way back in 1987 as a kid (I just went with my mate and we lost the coach when we came out and were, literally, wetting our pants!) and then the Niners (v Phins) at the American Bowl pre-season game at wembley in 1988. Great memories.
So is anyone else going to see this? I got my tickets the other day, level 1 endzone but round to the side so close to the sideline sections, they look pretty decent seats. Pity that neither team really sports any of the NFL's superstars (unlike the last time I saw both play all those years ago) but should still be a good day out.
This matchup is the equivalent of the EPL sending Sunderland vs Wigan to play a regular season game in the Rose Bowl. Last year you guys got Chelsea vs Hull. BTW of note; this is the 2nd regular season game the 49ers have played outside of the country. They played the Cardinals in Mexico City a few years ago.
This is true but at least it should a competitive game unlike the last one and my best mate is a huge niners fan so its all cool.
