Won't the Jets be staying in the Gaslamp district, or one of the expensive hotels downtown or on Coronado?
A 20 hour drive???? You sure that it would not be a TON cheaper and a TON easier to get a cheap flight??!!
Damn now I'm looking! Looking at tix, it says that the field view seats behind the visitor's bench are are "obstructed view?" The prices aren't that bad considering this is a playoff game, but I guess they are so close that you cant see the action?? Any of the SD folks on here know what that's about?
If they are low enough it's hard to see the field over the players on the sidelines. That's probably what it is. You need to be about 10-15 rows up to have a good view of the field from behind the bench....
Tried to look it up on the seating chart.....IMHO, if the tix are a good price, just get in the stadium, have a great time, and scream your lungs out!
You don't want those unless you want to look at Rex Ryan's ass all game. I wanna say first 11 rows are obstructed view. Qualcomm was originally built as a baseball stadium so some of the views are really bad. Basically in those rows you are on the field so your view is blocked by players standing on the sidelines. You certainly are very close to the action but there are times when you will have to watch on the scoreboard.
The Jets are on business, they're not going on vacation Most teams usually stay out by the stadium. Now the baseball teams stay in the Gas Lamp (of course that is where Petco is located)
:rofl2::rofl2::rofl2: "Rex Ryan's ass...." Who wants to travel 3000 miles to look at a coach's butt...LOL
My guess is they are staying somewhere in Mission Valley close to the stadium away from the distractions of downtown. There is that Sheraton on Rio San Diego right off of Qualcomm Way near the stadium they might be staying there but that's just a guess I really have no clue. I don't think I'm going to go to the game b/c the ticket prices but we'll see.
I'm visiting my friends in Salt Lake City right now, strongly considering driving out to the game. It's only 750 miles from here, so that should only be about a 9 hour drive. I'd have to leave back for Salt Lake directly after the game though, my flight to New York leaves Monday.
It's a pretty easy drive, all I-15. The nice part is outside of a few areas in Utah and in Vegas, Baker and Barstow you can drive 80-90 without any real worries. If you do it be careful in Provo, Beaver, Cedar City and St George. I've gone over 100 multiple times in between Mesquite and Vegas and again between Primm and Baker.
I really wanna go, I live about 2 hours away from SD, but I signed up for scuba diving lessons like months ago not thinking about the playoffs, so I wont be able to go :-(. To all the people who were going, I always heard that SD fans were assholes and that people get stabbed there and stuff, but I went to the SD game last year and all the fans seemed cool, but then we lost. If we win this game they might not be all buddy buddy after the game.
Opposing teams used to stay at the Mission Valley Mariott. The last few years they usually stay at the Manchester Grand Hyatt downtown. As far as SD fans, its the same as any team. Act cool with us and they're usually cool with you, and vice versa. We do have a lot of raider fan transplants here who like to start trouble.
