    Are you serious?

    He's not "below average"...

He's young and he's been getting better over the past couple seasons.

this guy is a starting caliber player who unfortunately will have to be a back-up because barton and vilma are going to be maning the middle. he will def be used as a situational player tho and will contribute a lot to our team. posted 180 tckls over the last to seasons.

Kassell is actually an above average player. He was a solid compliment to Keith Bullock here in Tennessee.

I'm not completely thrilled about the pick up, but i know he'll be a good fit for us

Why was he let go? The Titans are in cap hell. Kassel is a solid LB... if you need a comparison, think Vrabel. Other than Vilma, I think the Jets LB's will be in an active rotation. Kassell will definitely be a part of that rotation.

How many games have you guys actually seen him play? I don't know a lick about him other than that his stats over the last couple seasons have been pretty solid. From what I recall, Tangini went after him pretty hard, so that's probably a good sign, right?

He's solid, but in my opinion is below average to average at the moment. Yeah, he's young, and will only get better.

    I live in Tennessee,
Kassell got playing time due to injuries to Calmus and Sirmon,
he's got pretty good speed and hands, but to me he is still unproven.
I think he's a good low risk for his salary, but I don't see him penciled
    in as starter.
