We all got generous shots of the new digs on tv. What did you think?

They did a field level shot and the screens and vantage points looked awesome. Huge upgrade.

Looked great from the blimp as well!

can't wait for next season. Let's inaugurate the New Meadowlands as Super Bowl Champions!!

I have to say from high up above, it almost seemed like a model of the stadium. I think I need to see a gmea take place in there before it hits home.

Yeah it looked really sweet. I can't wait to watch a game in there. Hopefully watching a game there will be a lot better than watching one in the Meadowlands... I saw a game at the Cardinals' stadium (Phoenix Stadium) last year and it blew me away, hopefully the new stadium is designed as well as that one.

I do not know what you are talking about, Giants Stadium was and still is one of the best stadiums to "watch" a football game. There is not a chance in hell that the new stadium will provideany where near what we had.

That view wasn't from the blimp, it was from the front row of the Upper Deck. I agree with 336. Giants Stadium was a better "football" satdium by far. This new POS is a better "amenities" stadium. There's no comparison. I guess it just depends what you're looking for when you go to a stadium.

I'm reserving judgement until I actually see a game from inside the new stadium.

Sect 227 - I'm with you on everything you've posted regarding the new stadium, and the "value" of the PSL's, moving to the upper deck (as I will be too next year) etc. BUT, I will say that despite these things the one thing I am looking forward to and expect a big improvement in the new place is the entrance to the game, and the areas the ring the outside of the stadium. It looks as though it'll be easier to leave the tailgate and get inside, with things to do if you'd like to head-in early.

I wont miss the cattle-herded wait to get in there that we've had to put up with, even before 9-11.

I am in awe as to how gullible people are about this. The stadium seats same number of people, yet is is much bigger. You don't have to know basics laws of physics to realize on average you will be much farther away from the field ... no matter how you design this. Another thing you might want to know is that teams will be getting full revenues from all amenities, such as parking, tickets, etc... Expect prices to rise as they are paying off their 1.4 billion debt. I don't see anything good for the fans in the new stadium. It is all about marketing and huge profits for Jets and Giants. At the expense of fans and taxpayers.

The stadium itself doesn't even fit more people. It doesn't have a roof to give us a realistic chance to eyewitness Super Bowl or great other Bowls or events. Oh yeah, it is going to have a few more replay LCD screens. Like that couldn't have been built for dirt cheap in the old stadium. Don't be fooled. The new stadium is not better for fans. We are going sit farther and pay more. Welcome to new meadowlands!

How can you pass judgment and stadium that you haven't even seen a game in yet?

We are going to have to see about that. I hope so. After all, the taxpayers are on the hook for about $400 million in road improvements and new rail link.

Did you miss my point about basic physics?

What does distance have to do with physics though? Physics is motion isn't it?

It's not physics, its simple common sense......longer, wider, and higher stadium + same number of actual seats + same basic seat layout = seating much further away from the field.

+PSL's + higher ticket prices + restricted tailgating area = higher cost per game to the average fan

Why is it that every team in the league can have a nice new stadium but when the Jets actually invest in one certain people act like someone spit in their faces? Yeah, I understand the PSL's are an insult and they suck but having a rail link and some nice amenities makes alot of sense, specially to LI fans who had hellish commutes to the swamp.

I was all for the west side stadium but this is what Woody wanted, so were stuck. Might as well embrace it, it's gonna be home for a long time whether you like it or not.

Well yes, common sense. The farther the object, the smaller it appears. We can call it whatever we want, geometry, physics, but I described exactly what you said in previous posts. You did mention another good point about restricted tailgating area. That means more money from us for tailgating. There is nothing good for the fans in new stadium. Only higher prices and being farther from the field. Everything they have done is to screw fans and generate profits. Even things, which could serve dual purpose of helping fans and generating revenues at the same time were not implemented, like actually increasing number of seats as compared to existing stadium, so more fans could witness the game and building a roof to make games like last night more bearable for fans and also give us a chance for super bowl.

The stadium is a travesty and a pure marketing ploy. And for NJ fans it is twice as bad. There is about 600 mil to a billion debt that taxpayers are going to take on associated with new roads, rail, utility costs, debt costs associated with existing Giants stadium that must be demolished now. Also there are opportunity costs associated with giving teams 40 acre land for practice facilities. And the actual revenues for the state are going to be capped at about 6.3 mil (5 mil lease, plus 1.3 mil flat tax; now they get about 25 mil annually, because they tax parking, advertisement, luxury suites, etc, plus rent). If you do basic math, without even getting into net present value of money, is state is on the debt for 600 mil, and they get 6 mil every year in revenue, it will take 100 years to break even. Of course reality is such that it will never break even, and it a huge money drain for the state tax payers.

Like I said, guys, welcome to the new meadowlands!

You should be more upset about that abomination next door called Xanadu. I'm sure untold tax dollars went into this white elephant that is yet to open and won't for the foreseeable future. At least the New Meadowlands will be a major attraction for pro and college football games.
