RIGHT!!!! and that is why they are resting their players in Buffalo today, sick and cold weather can end their hopes for a Superbowl.

    Dumb move by the Pats.

Luckily for New England, Julian Edelman looks like a heck of a player too...

Funny how fast those guys came out of the woodwork. At least with Sox fans you knew they were there. They just thought their legacy was going to be Bill Buckner.

This thread reminds me of the thread on the Pats board when they were all expressing sympathy about Leon's injury.

Oh wait, that never happened. Fuck Welker.

Oh, and I ripped the shit out of my own ACL, so don't tell me shit. Fuck Welker.

Don't act like a Pats fan. You are a Jets fan.

Oh yeah, I knew tons of Sox fans growing up (even in Jersey). I knew a bunch in Vegas long before they won anything. I knew exactly ZERO Pats fans before they won. Even post 2001 I hardly knew any (remember they didn't make the playoffs in 2002) but around 2003/04 they came out of the woodwork like roaches.

Post of the new year. Exactlyfuckingright. Where are all of the Colts' fans now? What if the same thing had happened to Manning?

Exactly. Losing Welker is probably more devastating to the Pats o than losing Moss, although I expect Faulk will try to fill the void.

This absolutely sucks. He might be back next year but he won't be the same player, that won't be till 2011 if it ever happens at all. I really don't have a problem with him playing though, especially considering it happened on the opening drive. The way they half-assed the rest of the game though, half-resting guys and half going for the win really pissed me off though. Edleman looks like he might be able to fill that niche reasonably well; he actually looks to be a bit faster and more dangerous with the ball but routes and hands are more questionable... Those are to be expected since he was a qb up until now, and I've got high hopes for him for next year and beyond. I really can't say I feel great about this team's playoff chances, but if anything it's the defense that has me concerned.

I feel bad for Welker, not so bad for the Pats. Great teams need lots of luck and the Pats have had more than their fair share over the years. Bad luck is another sign of GPC.

So winning teams create bandwagon jumpers. So what? You think everyone out there wearing a Yankees hat can say they were always a Yankees fan? Yeah, I remember Hillary Clinton pulling that same shit. I know a few bandwagon jumpers up here but for the most part everyone in NE has followed the Pats for a while seeing as we only have one team to follow. How many teams can NY'ers follow again?

Hopefully this ends the "should you sit your starters" debate.

Manning threw 18 passes and Clark caught 7 today. Welker was hurt in the 1st quarter on a play that can happen on the practice field.

this could affect Welker's 2010 season as well.

that's a massive injury for a professional athlete. MB's right, this might affect the beginning of next season as well for him

Why? This was on the first drive of the game on a fluke play that could have happened at any point during the season. Even the Colts had Manning and Wayne play at least a couple series early in the game.

And yes, this will definitely affect him next season. He won't be as good. I think the guy we saw for the last three years might never be coming back given the way he relies on quick spins and cuts for his game. I'm hoping for the best but I'm not optimistic at all.

edit: CJ Lang beat me to it.

i really couldnt care less about wes welker. oh well. the only downside is that patsy fans will claim this is why they didnt win.

the guy could have done that in practice, running to the car or walking down the stairs it was a non contact injury. dont harp on the this is why you dont play the games bullshit i really cant stand that shit. the only good thing that bellichicken does is play all the games to win them.
