Read in the daily news that the Jets tried to get ahold of DB for weeks, even calling former teamates of Byrd who may have talked to him, no one could get DB on the phone so he won't be at the game Sunday, that sucks, wonder why he's MIA??

Only speculating here but Leon HESS & family always treated the man well as with all JETS players.

Just wondering what cheap-o has done for ex-JETS plyers who didn't play under his ownership..

That said, i hope he's ok.

I know this might be tough for people, maybe just maybe he wants nothing from Football after his predicament. Maybe he just wants to lead a private life.

I am more concerned that Curtis Martin is not at the game then a guy that got paralyzed and wants to have a nice private life away from the game that caused it.

I don't beleive there is any riff between Curtis and the NYJ....
I saw Curtis at two games this year. One game he was in a box with family and friends. The other game it was real early like 8am, just as we got into the lot. He was walking thru the VIP / players lot heading toward the players entrance / tunnel. He was very nice to the four of us. (There was literally noone else in the lot) Joked with him about suiting up one more time. Took a handful of pictures and signed an autograph.

What a great story! Man you must have been pumped. This guy is such a legend for the Jets, never let us down on or of the park; good stuff for clearing up his absence. He probably has other engagements.
