I agree with the not thinking about NYE part. In a few hours I'll be hanging out and getting lit with friends and all I can think about is Sunday's game...
Who cares how we get in, once we are in anything can happen. Sure it'd be great to beat their starters, but if we beat their backups I'll be just as happy-
First off its not like we were being blown out by Indy when Manning sat and you never know we could've won the game anyway....Like others have been saying the Jets have played most of the season without their best DL & 2nd best RB but that doesn't matter since its the Jets...also we won a game with our back up QB playing against a team that just beat NO.....no matter who plays in these games they are all being paid to play football...When the Jets win Sunday night and the following week everyone will be singing a different tune.
Hot rod, defense isn't the problem it's that overrated guy who touches the ball on every snap, our backup is 3 times better than that guy (whose name I shall not mention). Our back up doesn't throw 4-5 int in one game. How can you have the #1 rushing attack and #1 def and still be that terrible. I never bought into that guy when we drafted him, he is a product of the system a la leinart, name one qb from USC that did anything in the NFL in the last 15 yrs (excluding palmer). He couldn't beat out John booty and we think he is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Please tanny better start scouting college freshmen qb's because in 3 years you are going to need another one. I HAVE SAID MY MIND.
I agree about the over rated comment, but now is not the time to sulk about that type of stuff. We have a great chance to make the playoffs with a rookie head coach and qb. Now is the type to cheer loud and believe in what could be. Everyone better be going crazy sunday night. Lets get into teh playoffs and see if we can make some noise. J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!!!

No one wants to play a team in the playoffs with a stout defense, low expectations, and nothing to lose. Let's worry about getting there first.

I like what Edwards brings to the team (despite the drops). Shows that he’s buying what Rex is selling. A win is a win buddy, either way you look at it. If the jets win on sunday, and then again the following weekend in the WC round, I'm pretty sure you will never return to these forums again.

Guys I am as pumped to be in playoff contention as the rest. But lets not get too crazy about how we got her. It is true that finishing the season against two playoffs teams who are resting thier starters is about as cheap a way to get into the playoffs as there is. Edwards talking big about preparing to beat a team who is benching starters isn't exactly moving. How about "if we dont win we royally suck and dont deserve anything". A lot of teams would have beat Indy this year if Manning sat in the second half. Not to mention sitting Wayne and Clark and then expecting the 300th pick in the draft to take over at QB. I will take the win but have no doubt it was a gift we didn't earn. It was our Christmas present. We got to play the Rams in the second half of that game.
i think everyone is assuming they are benching starters...but there has been no report of this or inidication of this from marvin lewis....
