Especially the Panthers victory, this team just took apart both the Vikings and Giants in the previous weeks. The Buccaneers also defeated a Saints team that was playing to win. Rex Ryan brought this up in his interview the other night.

I would consider adding the Raiders to the list but the game happened way to long ago.

**oops I meant to put in the title, the Panthers and Buccaneers victories now look impressive.

Agreed on the Panthers. The Saints didn't look like they cared much about that game Sunday.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with the Panthers this offseason. John Fox is still at risk of losing his job, but he's a solid coach. I just think Cowher's statements that he'd like to be coaching next year, and his preferred destination of Carolina could force Fox out. If Al Davis is smart, he'll fire Cable, bring in Fox, and back the fuck off of that team.

    He's not, and he won't.

Some team is gonna get a great coach if John Fox gets forced out in Carolina though. His record down there is really impressive when you really look at his roster (as if getting to a Super Bowl with Jake Delhomme wasn't impressive enough.)

Of course he won't. It sure is amusing to see what might be/might have been in Oakland with all those early draft picks and coaches available. The best part is, the Raiders job would be a great job for someone who wanted to restore past glory if it weren't for the owner being a semi-conscious moron.

Our record is what it is .

C'mon now Tampa ??? Oakland ???? Does strength of opponents really matter?

We all know the score...........we have a good, young team that will be better coached next year....then and only then should we worry about power rankings and have expectations.

It's possible. It wouldn't surprise me if Matt Moore just needed time to develop into a good QB. He bounced around from UCLA to OSU in college, so he didn't get much of a chance to truly develop. He may be finally starting to reach his potential.

I remember reading that they will let Fox come back for his final year of the current contract, but he will not get an extension, will have to earn it next year. Probably the right move by Carolina. If they could just get a QB. Moore has been much better than Delhomme. Who if you remember started the Jets game and was awful, among all his other awful games this year.

    a) john fox was told by the carolina front office the job is his next year if he wants it.and to all his coaches too.

    b) strength of schedule is important in playoff tie breakers

Seriously? What a shit situation for Fox. Delhomme has been horribly inconsistent for 4 years now, and yet they've never gone out and spent any real effort on securing a future QB. They lucked into Matt Moore after the Cowboys dropped him, and now they're going to just discard John Fox. He knows it, too. I wouldn't be surprised if they do keep him around for one more year, but they'll likely be negotiating Cowher's contract the whole time. So, Fox gets to help further develop Moore and then watch as Cowher takes him, Williams, and Stewart for all the glory. Sucks.

Is it just me or does Moore have sub-Pennington arm strength?

All call him tommorow and be like how is it that the Jets can completely shut down the Panthers, but the Panthers can unleash hell on the Giants.

The Saints were trying there hardest to win that game. The number one overall seed and home field advantage throughout was on the line. They very much cared. They just got beat.
