What I'm trying to say, is that we must continue to put pressure and blitz Peyton Manning regardless if it is Peyton Manning. Do not by any means rush three or four, and stay in Zone coverage. The only reason I say this, is because there has been times during the season that our Defense has done this, regardless of why Ryan says; that he doesn't play a "Bend Not Break" Defense toward the end of the game. Most notably, look at all the games we lost in a last minute drive by the opposing team. Nearly 70% of the plays were simple Zone coverages. We must continue to play as we did against Tom Brady in week two; just hit him... as much as we can, from beginning to end. I know it sounds crude to say "just hit him", but it needs to be done. I'm not saying to intentionally injure the guy, but let him know that we're not gonna' slouch on our tackles. Something that was alarming at one of Rexs' press conferences, I believe it was Monday's of last week. He said "I think they know we're gonna' pass. We're a desperate team trying to make the playoffs, so you gotta' pass. They'll be ready for that." I hope this was a poor attempt at making Indy think we're abandoning our running game, and airing it out against them. I don't think there's going to be any doubt in anybody's mind in that stadium at four o'clock that we intend on running the ball down their throat... so I pray to all things Joe Namath that Schotty sticks with that. I understant airing it out in the final quarter, down 17 points. But seriously, if we see some cute deep bombs on first or second down, I think I'm going to put my fist through the t.v. So, in short; what I'm getting at. Don't abandon the game plan! Stick to the run, on a team that is allowwing 5.0 Yds, per attempt. Secondly, do not play to Peyton Manning's offense, play to OUR defense, and put him on his ass. I'll be screaming my head off come 4:15
If they come out with 9 in the box like Atlanta did on 1st down, we gotta pass. Would be stupid to keep putting Sanchez in constant 2nd and 3rd and longs because we are too stubborn and thinking we can run on teams who are clearly setup to stop the run in certain situations.
Need 1 or 2 succesful play-actions like Sanchez's 65 yard bomb to Edwards v Atlanta last week. Should be easier in a dome..................
Hopefully the desperation will kick in and that will be the final resolution. A must do scenario. We'll see...
We have to win the next two remaining games and we are in the playoffs! But the way it looks right now, I'm afraid that we wouldn't be able to win the game. We have to start running the ball otherwise our defense will get tired!
please get rid of shotty after this year. other than our run offense we suck. his stupid gimmick plays are getting tired. look at the 1st series, doesnt run at all. he thinks he is some genius but hes garbage.
they just said that ryan wants shotty back next year if he wants to come back. So I guess we will have to deal with his garbage plays another year. f'in sad
Ryan said shotty is back if he wants to come back!........what else can he say at this point in time............He'll be gone if dont make the playoffs...............God i hope so........that reverse call with Clowney looses 14 freaking yards..............right after a good run up the middle.............wtf!..............unfuckingreal.
