    1) Robert Gallery as a reserve? He played 6 games this season!!!

    2) How many Dolphins player did he nominate? The guy seems a bit biased considering they are 7-7 like the rest of us mortals

    3) Good for Pouha... I guess we don't need to go after a NT anymore, next year he and Jenkins can divide snaps 50-50.

Really? Sione Pouha has been that good??

It looks like Harris, Revis, and Mangold are near locks.. I'd guess TJ, Faneca, and Ferguson are also in the discussion..

This is another case where age is misleading. Sione was a 26 year old rookie and hasn't played THAT much in his five year career. He's coming into his prime now and his best years may still be ahead.

To draw a parallel, I'd say at 30 years old, he's equivalent most players' 26 or 27 since most rookies are 22 or 23 years old.

He's hardly ever played prior to this season and he entered the league at 26.

He can play another 2-3 years at top level, especially sharing snaps with someone.

DE is where we need 1 young guy since our 2 starters are 32 and have seen exstensive action over 10 years of NFL football.

Just because you come into the league late doesn't mean your body isn't aging from being alive.

Yes, the wear and tear is less, but he's still in a 30 year old body.

Pouha can't play until he's 42 because he started 4 years later than everyone else. That's awful logic.

I think Boo Robinson still needs to be a Jet.

You're right in that there's no mathematical formula for determining how one's body will hold up. We can't accurately predict that. No doubt.

But because he has played on a somewhat limited basis for most of his career and he began at age 26, you can't deny that there's a good chance he has more years left than most 30 year-old DTs. We don't know this for sure, but given that most rookies are 21-23 and he was 26, he has an advantage over many 30 year old DTs.

Ah man. I expected the fans to not know what Ferguson has been doing, but the "insiders" should recognize that Brick is better than he's given credit for. That's okay. Three years after Brick is well past his prime, the fans will be voting him in a la Alan Faneca.

it comes down to nothing but being healthy and having great technique. Like Grady Jackson did for his career.

this late start, limited basis logic is empty wishes for a longer career. Your quick twitch fibers still break down at certain ages, no matter how long you've been on a football field.

You guys do realize the Jets lost Kris Jenkins right? The Jets D has been GREAT without him still and he was amazing. Gotta give credit to Pouha and Howard Green for what they have done, Devito too. I was sure the Run D would struggle with the loss of Jenkins, but it has been pretty good.

Sione Pouha has been more than capable filling in this year.
There havent been any complaints about Pouha on this site & this article reinforces his impressive play.
The fact that the JETS D finished at/near the top despite losing Kris Jenkins in game 6 speaks volumes about Pouha's ability to pick up the slack.

Anyone who thinks we need to spend a draft pick in the 1st 3 rounds on a NT has to do a much better job of explaining why.
