Hey..This coach has a rookie QB that gave away 3 games, and a ST unit that gave away 2.

He sits at 7-7 with a shot at the playoffs. The only really damning thing against him is the Jax loss.

We held Atl. to 10 points. and Lost...While the D gave up the final drive, the Offense managed 10 frickin pts at Home against a Dome team in December ...

He's been a pretty good coach. I wonder if the organization did not saddle him with Schottenheimer, where the team might be.

N.O.'s offense is just as good as Indy.

We held them to 10 pts in THEIR bldg......

    just sayin...

P.S.. the line on this game has been bet down from 7 to 5 pts (Vegas Hilton).

Atlanta's offense is just as good as Indy.!?!

    You're kidding right?

Let me clear something up. I really like Rex Ryan. I like what he's brought to this team. I love his attitude, and I believe that under him this team will get real good real quick. I hated Mangini and his buttoned down boring demeanor and was overjoyed when he got run out of town.

However, jokes & false bravado can come back and bite you in the ass if the team can't back up his rhetoric. And what's the message he's giving to his players? That they can't play on the same level as the Colt starters? Tampa & Oakland aren't in the playoffs this year. I know what he was getting at with the joke, but next time he should hire Seinfeld. He doesn't seem so busy these days.

Let's say Indy sits all it's starters for this game, and we still lose.
    What's the punchline again?

Ummmm....I could be wrong about that...I'm no rocket scientist, but I think N.O. scores close to a TD more per game...and completes at a higher percentage...and has done it against a much higher stregnth of schedule...??????So yes...New Orleans is at least as good if not a better offense, even if Manning is the better QB.

We haven't beaten a good team since week 2, and you want us to play the undefeated Colts with all their starters in with the playoffs still on the line?!

    Yeah, I do.
If we beat them with their backups playing what have we really accomplished? The story will be that the Colts sacrificed a perfect season for the heath and well being of their stars, who would have definitely kicked the Jets ass had they played. Subtext...The Jets still suck.

That playoff spot was on the line last week, and look how that challenge was met.

I've waited years for this team to stop screwing around and build a foundation for winning. One that will abolish the SOJ attitude and eliminate the phrases like "if only" and "almost" and "what if'' from their vocabulary. I'm tired of the flukey wins and heart wrenching losses, mostly because the organization never ever seems to learn from them.

What will be gained from beating the Colts backups? A shot at a wild-card spot and an even slimmer shot at continuing a Super Bowl run? Sure, it could happen. Maybe Vernon Gholston will start playing like Lawrence Taylor.

Who knows...maybe we can play the Saints backups in the Super Bowl?

I think the Jets are actually a decent matchup against the Colts. Manning likes his options and if we can take Wayne out of the game with Revis we eliminate one option. The key to beating Indy will be the offense, I'm confident the D can do a good job and at least limit them.

Now comes the big 'but', our offense has to actually have a good game, as in run the ball and pass the ball effectively with very few if any turnovers and to score tds when in the red zone. The Jets are due some luck and I think they can take it. Sanchez 'gulp' will have to play his best game of the year.

Probably not! The colts are setting the standard. Undefeated is undefeated. Like an old sage once said " You must beat the best to be the best" and that old sage is not the op. If you there for are not capable of beating the best maybe you do not belong with the best. This Jets team (even though it pains me dearly) is a year or two away from complete domination. So if they cannot beat the colts let them simmer an entire offseason and think what might have been. If we only could close games out....miami x2, atlanta, jacksonville. Then they will come back next year a stronger team. Ready and willing to chase after that awesome goal know as the lombardi trophy.
