Brett Favre has always been about Brett Favre. Does this really surprise anyone? I hope he gets knocked out of the game next time so he won't have any say in the matter.
I remember a couple years ago Dungy sending out his punting unit and Manning shooed them off the field and went for it on 4th down. And in a 7 to 6 ball game with playoff implications, no way does Manning ever get benched.
On rare occasion I expect that a QB of that caliber can do something like that and survive the decision. Occasionally. Not regularly. It's the coaches job to make those calls, not the players.
I remember this as well, difference is Manning can pull it off and somehow get away with it, Farve is just a self serving arrogent A-Hole who invariably breaks down as the season goes on and hurts his team, as evidenced last year and its starting to unravel this year in minny.........
Considering I hate the state of MN, their oppressive taxes, and my shitty ex wife in MN, I'd love to see an implosion as well. But I don't want to see a player ever tell a coach to fuck off. I couldn't imagine ever saying that to my football coaches.
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...alftime-hurled-post-game-expletives-at-favre/ Report: Chilly ripped offense at halftime, hurled post-game expletives at Favre Posted by Mike Florio on December 22, 2009 8:58 AM ET As it turns out, Chilly isn't such a chump after all. Sean Jensen of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that, both before and after the "heated discussion" that Vikings coach Brad Childress claims wasn't a "heated discussion," Childress targeted some heated words at members of his team. Per Jensen, the offense got it at halftime, and Favre himself was the target after the game, presumably after Favre aired the dirty laundry to the media. At the half, Childress reportedly cursed at the team and said it's "laughable" that the Vikings consider themselves a Super Bowl team. Though a kinder, gentler Chilly emerged on Monday, Jensen writes that "all is not well between Brad and Brett, and the primary difference centers on the quarterback's penchant to check out of runs and into passes." And so, as several of you have suggested in the comments, it sounds like there's finally a schism in Minnesota. Favre might not have known what the term meant in August, but we've got a feeling that he knows it now.
Apparently now it's coming out that Childress is pissed off because Favre is audiblizing out of run plays more often than he would like (even when it works). It might very well be that Favre is making the right decisions on the field, but to me the real point is that it's so interesting that this is all coming out - could it be a certain gunslinger QB throwing a coach under the bus in the media? That couldn't happen, could it?
Well it was bound to happen sooner or later. Now if Minny chokes these last two games and Philly grabs the 2 seed I could see the Vikings losing in the first round wildcard. Favre is a strong and, at times, divisive personality.
Yeah, Peyton tends to be a big picture guy. As much as an undefeated season might mean, it still isn't as nice as another ring.
Didn't Peyton take a veiled shot at Favre in the postgame? I don't remember the exact quote but when I heard him last night it was clear to me it was a little dig.
