I understand establishing the run. But with nine in the box. Even with lack of trust, you have to throw in those situation. If you cant throw when your top two WR have one on one coverage, with no help, you're in big trouble.
Well we are in big trouble.
Wasn't the braylon trade supposed to fix that?

Correct. 9 in the box = throw the ball. Quick slant pass. Why the jets were running against 9 in the box is bizarre.

Yes but Sanchez inabilty to throw even if J. Rice himself was catching made that trade useless.

Let's all hope Sanchez's gets better this off-season (like I think he will).

Maybe if we didn't always lineup only 2 WRs that would help. Why are we not calling plays more slants!!! Get Clowney and Keller involved!!!

    They threw 32 times yesterday.

  6. We've been running against 9 in the box all year long....the stats speak for themselves. Give the Falcons and the crappy weather their due.

Maybe we could throw a pass if we had a QB. Right now our best option is to run the ball even if 11 are in the box! Right now Sanchez gives us the best chance to loss, so yes runnning the ball with 8, 9, 10, or even 11 in the box is fine with me.

the offensive Cordinator and QB are responable to creating match-ups. Our rookie QB doesnt have the ability to do that and either does Schotty. When you trot out a personel package that has your O line + Wayne Huneter, Dustin Keller, Hartstock, Edwards TJ and Sanchez then the D can have 9 in the box and be 99.9% sure you arfe running. Oh besides the pass to Wayne Hunter, that fooled thenm Schotty. A FUCKING MESS

They throw when the "D" is ready for it. Mix it up a little.

You have to admit Wayne Hunter looked pretty dominant running his route. Did you see him clapping for the ball? lmao.

If we threw it more you would made a thread on how we should have ran it more.

What do you mean, we lined up against 9 in the box on one play and threw to some random tight end that I have never heard of before. WTF WAS THAT?!?

Thats a play for 3 and goal from the 1!

Exactly....Shotty, why are you throwing so much with a rookie QB they would say.

Yup. My count was 32 passes and 33 runs--Atlanta supposedly struggles vs the pass so you had to mix it up some. Plus we got our only score in the passing game, so I don't see the complaining. Make the FGs and you win the game.

part of the problem is that sanchez is having trouble completing the routine throws like slants, hooks, and ins/outs......

not having dominant receivers doesn't help the cause either.

Some teams just have a stench that gets attached to them no matter who the coach is. When you think of certain teams....you think of what they run..and how they run it. New coaches replace fired coaches with the promise of change..and you open up the present and inside...a fresh pile of shit. Occasionally its broken (Parcells and Charlie Weiss) only to return.

Some teams break that theory....but there are a few teams that cant. If I were to close my frozen eye lids yesterday....I would still think another conservative wizard was sitting behind the glass a couple hundred feet up in the sky calling plays....his black comb over, wired glasses and round face looking at his play sheet for the next secretive 5 yard button hook play to be called.

I really do not see a huge difference between Schotty and Hackett. Schotty, to his credit, has at least read the flag football bible off play calling "you go here....he goes there..and then you can go in motion here..and he will hide there" routine.

It must be the Jets draft all conservative players. I really could not give a shit how raw Mr Sanchez is.

Its a Jet thing I guess. Im sure during the Ryan rein there will be an attempt to break it like Parcells did (Charlie Weiss to be exact). How much success he has is debatable.

The only unique thing I saw yesterday on offense was the way, during commercial breaks, Schotty would run the small group off the field and replace them with the big group...just before they came back from commercial. He did that all day...like a little self appointed genius..like the other team would start running for the locker room yelling "STOP IT BRIAN!!"

The irony is that he was open and MS still threw it late.
