I just noticed that this guy is still a free agent. He is the answer to the Jets NT problems. At 6'2 345 he is an immovable object. My major objection against him is the fact that he is 33, but the Jets have Pouha waiting, and with some training i feel he can become a starter, so basically Jackson would just hold the fort. This would allow D Rob to move to DE where he can use his quickness and strength more. He has no charater issues that i know of, and his only character issue is that he is lazy, but that can be just from wearing down from being way to big. Do you think the Jets would sign him?

Rosenhaus guy. Wants big money and isn't really getting much as you can see...

I'd like him for the 3-4, but try and structure it like Von Oelhoffen to where it's pretty much a 1-year contract.

All in all though, he's gonna want too much money.

I've been saying this for a while. We should try to pick this guy up on a one year deal if we can afford him. It would definitely help with the transition to the 3-4.

Grady would be awesome. If Drew is going to be a dick though then just forget it.

I don't know if Grady has ever played a nose tackle in a 3-4.

lets let our young players play. If we keep getting vets to start in front of them they'll never get the experience they need to be ready.

I think Tangini has an eye out for Jackson.... but they don't want to pay too much, or give him a very long contract, especially with his bad knees. I think they will wait him out, and see if his price eventually drops.

He's old and fat and reminds me too much of Chester McGlockton.

I think picking up Jackson would act a a "bridge" until pouha is ready to play full time, and they can give Pouha some play to give Jackson a breather, this is one thing I feel they need to get done

Yet, most of the bored wanted Ted Washington. I don't get how some of us, including myself, want Ted Washington his older and fatter but don't want Grady Jackson...

The argument should be money, not fatness or age.

Grady Jackson's worth a look but only as a one-year deal or a deal structured to effectively be a one year tryout. His price will come down and the Jets might offer him the best opportunity to play.

If Vilma is right and the Jets play a hybrid defense, we need a fat NT other than Pouha. I'd be more comfortable if we could bring in a guy like Grady. I just don't know if he's got the type of personality or drive that Mangini wants. Don't know much about his attitude regarding football.

One other veteran I'd be interested in bringing in is the oft-injured Peter Boulware for some veteran leadership and possibly some big plays on 3rd downs. If he can prove he's healthy, I'd welcome him.

Heard on Sirius that he has character issues, along with Sam Adams. That's probably why we never talked to either one.

Jackson definitely fits the 3-4, but will he beat out Robertson? Its worth a shot we lack deph and if Robertson gets hurt we are in deep SHI..... Who is our other DT if we play the 4-3(for a couple downs and goalline situations)? Pouha..... I guess Pouha is ok for a couple downs but this is our weakest defensive position other than OLB, so Jackson is worth a look. But we probably want him playing only 50% of the plays and he probably wants starter money so we wait a little bit. But he is definitely the top DT on the FA board.
