now he has thrown 3 balls in a row that made him look like an nfl qb. he has the physical talent, but he just can't make his reads quick enough most of the time.

quietly impressed..you kidding.. guy is playing a D that is loading against the run and is giving him time to progress his reads. His footwork is shocking

Revis is the best CB in the NFL. No questions should be raised.

^^Agreed with the above point about his footwork. It is very poor.

I really don't want to see Kellen Clemens behind center doing anything but holding for a kicker in the future. He's just not a NFL calibre QB and I have to wonder if that hit he took several years ago also took his heart with it. For a guy that was playing for his professional future today, it sure looks to me like Kellen is prepared for life after football. He'd sure as hell better be..

hes missed so many wide open targets and he has overthrown people a lot today. It could have been jitters wanting to prove his nfl caliber but it could just be hes kellen clemens.

It wasn't pretty, but he didn't turn it over and we got the W. That was all we needed from him.

Now get back under center Mr Sanchez...

Despite winning today, I would not be surprised to see Clemens not playing in the NFL next season. Did anyone notice Rex shaking his head on the sideline when he missed that screen pass? I think the jets are gonna realize this guy just isnt NFL QB material.

I think that the Jets already understand this, and that's why they did what it took to move up and draft Mark Sanchez.

Yea thats true. We need a good back up. Ideally we would have a veteran come in and be back up. Maybe someone like Garcia. That way we'd have a decent back up and someone to help Sanchez learn.

Yesterday looked a lot like Clemens' 2007 performances except the rest of the team is a lot better and picked us up. He can move around and hit some throws, but he's inaccurate and that shows up especially in the red zone which usually leads to FGs.

Wow did he look awful yesterday!!

Freakin ridiculous, it's hard to believe he's been in this system for 4 years now.

Certainly shows why Mark won that battle-

I GUESS he was on par with your average back up but I hate that we don't have a QB that can throw strikes. I remember all the buzz about Clemens being good enough to start but he just needed to prove himself. Thats not going to happen, some of those passes-NOT EVEN CLOSE.

IS, we talked about this last week... about Clemens' last chance... and no more excuses. Well, he looked terrible. No one will ever be able to say he didn't get enough chances to show what he can do. Yesterday was his chance and he looked like shit. Wide open people and missles sailing 12' in the air. Not fumbling and not throwing interceptions is not a good enough reason to consider this guy an adequate backup.

This is why Clemens is SO GONE:

    1) Sanchez is the annointed starter and should be because he's still better than Clemens even though Clemens has been in the system for four years.

    2) We now have to worry about Sanchez' knees. He already dislocated his left in college and now this on his right knee. Is there a weakness here? Do we have an "injury prone" QB on our hands? Whatever the case, this increases the need for a very capable B/U, and Clemens is not that guy.

    3) All the more reason to bring in a seasoned veteran as B/U. If Ainge works out, all the better, but we cannot put this team in Clemens' hands next year if Sanchez goes down.

Clemens settled down and had some good passes in the late 3rd, early 4th, but it was mostly a bad performance. He was too afraid to make a mistake. It was obvious. However, he did not actually make a costly mistake and the team won by 23, so you could say he did his job. Just not a good enough job to be considered a starter by ANY TEAM in the NFL.
