The Patriots are going to love having him in their secondary. He'll bring a little experience to an otherwise rookie secondary.
See ya later dude! Wasn't he supposed to be the ed reed of this defense. It is not like Rex has given him every chance to be very sucessful in this defense. He has done very little this season. I had such high hopes for this guy when he was drafted and now he is turning into this little cry baby of a player. Good thing is that the Jets should be able to get atleast a draft pick (hopefully a good one) for this wanna be safety. You dissapoint me kerry rhodes.
the biggest difference is Ricky was a top two or three player in his position and had more than enough ability to lose and still be competitive. Rhodes isn't that and doesn't have that luxury.
Ricky Williams was a pothead with a significant personality disorder that everybody knew about. He was also 5x as talented as Kerry Rhodes. Parcells was a very smart cookie to talk him back in off the ledge - the Dolphins playoff chances right now rest largely on that decision. Rhodes is something different: he's the guy who played hard for a season or two, got a swelled head, signed a big contract and then stopped playing hard (for whatever reason) and is now basically just an above average player and not that far above average.
really i dont know about you but i want someone who cherishes the millions of dollars he gets to play a game and would want to achieve and work as hard as he can. Not act like he won the lottery and give up. Hes done nothing but hurt the team since he got that contract and has proven he doesnt want to be here. Rex should sit him for smith because atleast he plays as hard as anyone else on the field.
to be honest I am not sure why rhodes wants out... ask braylon edwards how hard it is to be a celebrity for some crap team in a tiny market. NY is the place any football player can get the maximum amount of media attention possible, and on top of that how the heck does he plan on getting endorsements in some awful small market location.
To me anyway, Ricky was/is a pretty likable guy. Definitely a bit 'out there', though. Rhodes is becoming a very unlikable guy very quickly. It's really a shame too, because if he showed the same hunger that he had his first 3 years he could become a top 5 safety, or very close. The fact that his play in THIS system has been so horrendous speaks volumes about his desire to play football... On a side note, since LC left, Rhodes has declared himself the designated team malcontent. The main difference though was LC had more desire to play football the right way in his pinkie than Rhodes has in his whole body.
this guy is becoming a joke. what team will take a chance on him, with his ridiculous contract? i hope the jets can get a fourth rounder for him
