Is anyone else really not impressed with their game-day coverage? A few points I've noticed: 1) The announcers come through crystal clear but they must not have nearly the amount of microphones that CBS/FOX have throughout the stadium, or they've got them turned down tremendously. When watching the game, it's almost like you're listening to two guys calling the game from inside of a cardboard box. 2) The play-by-play guy seems late in catching up with the play. No excitement or passion in the booth. 3) Graphic at the TOP of your screen seems to get in the way alot. Maybe these are trivial details, and maybe it's just that the other networks have spoiled us with better coverage, but I'd really expect more from the NFL's own network.
a little unpolished, yeah. they actually missed a couple things real time that were pretty obvious at home, like loose balls, etc. one of them called it "extra curricular activities" when it was really a scrum for a fumble. i heard somebody yell "homo" to Sanchez when he was leaving the stadium, so they must've spent all their money on tunnel mics.
I think that you are speaking of the turnover and their later remark when the Jets recovered, something like "Oh, a fumble!!!"
I honestly think their HD feed is one of the best I have seen. The game looks crisp and bright. They do a phenomenal job on the video side. As far as the commentary and the rest of the audio, I could give 2 shits...
I heard the homo remark too. When Sanchez was going into the locker room... I thought it was hilarious.
Yep, heard that. I know physiotherapy isn't a manly career, but the poor guy was only helping the QB out. :/
Too bad Sanchez will get with more women in his life than that guy could probably ever dream. lol And yea, the announcers were horrible. They lacked any excitement whatsoever, but oh well.
seriously - millen was not too bad - its just hard to take him really seriously after running the lions into the ground - especially talking about personnel, philosophy, etc etc though when he talks about specific plays, gaps, defenses its OK cause he has played the game. jil
Can someone get a video link of the homo comment in the tunnel? I was at a bar and couldn't here it, but have heard about it from a bunch of people.
I also heard the canadians fans say "get him a hot dog!" and "we love you chad pennington!" when sanchez was walking down the tunnel to the locker room
Maybe because of Bob Papa? It did have a pre-season feel to it, maybe the neutral site. Like someone said, the video is good, I don't care about the announcers too much. When I'm at the home games there's a guy behind us with a voice like a cheese grater who never shuts up the whole game, so maybe I'm just used to focusing on the play and tuning out audio.
Every game on the NFL Network since day one has had that monotone audio like you're watching an NFL Europe game. Hard to get into the game.
a lot of people dont even have the nfl network which is also a pretty big factor. I have it at my house but my friends were drinking next door and dont have it so I couldnt watch it there and had to keep coming back to check.
On thing I caught on the NFL Network coverage last night was the Bills fan call Sanchez a fucking homo when he was walking to the lockerroom. Last week it was McDaniels "motherfucker"...tough week for the NFL network.
