Three out of Six Number one rushing attack. Number one pass defense. Number one total defense. Not a bad football team, those New York Jets.
Defintely not but 6-6 and we need to win out to even have a shot at the playoffs. We should have a better record then this. It is what it is though.
Finally a head coach who has successfully implemented his brand of football. Dominant run game and a stifling defense. The D has had its lapses at the worst of times this year but overall they have been excellent. Now about that pass offense... lol.
and we're 6-6! how about if we finish the year as the #1 rushing team and #1 defense and still miss the playoffs. i'd say it's very likely to happen.
I don't think so. We'll most likely be playing catch-up against Cincy and Indy and the running game will likely become secondary if we're behind.
Being #1 in rushing offense while having a sucky pass offense goes a longggg way toward your defensive YPG. I'm not saying our D isn't good, but if were putting up a ton of points, our pass D would not be #1.
Just a little tid bit that makes those numbers even more impressive #1 in total Defense despite going against the #1 total Offense and the #2 offense twice #1 in passing defense despite 4 games with the #2,#3, and #4 passing offenses just goes to show what actually happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object
These last two posts are proof that stats don't tell the full story. Regardless, being #1 does require some talent. I'm confident about the future of this franchise moving forward with Rex & Pettine.
Yea, if the Jets didn't have 26 giveaways, they could be in first place of the division. New England has 16 less giveaways.
Unfortunately there was no way to draft Sanchez as a 3+ year vet, so we have to take our lumps and hope that when he's ready the D is still as good. The way they've coped with the loss of Jinx suggests to me they might just about know what they're doing.
Pettine really doesn't get enough credit for this outstanding defense. This guy is an amazing upgrade from that doofus Bob Sutton. I'm really glad he followed Rex over from Baltimore.
Anyone else see Bob Sutton front and centre when the coaches were walking to halfway? Made me a little nauseous.
