It probally wont be deciced until training camp when they can fight it out. Im pretty sure that D'Brick will starting but Mangold will have to fight it out.
that's what i was thinking. i say put the rookies in now and go with it. it's going to be a learning curve for everyone so might as well start fresh with the starters we want.
I would have to agree with your guess, but I do think Teague will be given some consideration in regards to experience. It all depends how each one adapts to the new regimes system.
Yes...Mangold, being the best center in the draft, is definitely capable of leading this oline. And he may get some time at Guard instead of Brendan Moore so Teague can come in and add some veteran help. It will probably start: DBrick Kendall (these two combine for one hell of a blindside O line) Teague Mangold Adrian Jones Then maybe by season's end: DBrick Kendall Mangold Moore Adrian Jones
If Adrian Jones shows any skill at all next year at RT, (along with Mangold and Brick) we will only be 1 position away from a young and elite offensive line, which would be LG. We could then draft a guy next year, in round 2-3 and we could be beastly! Let's hope our guys this year pan out.
Both Mangold and Brick will start. Teams only draft linemen in the 1st round if they are going to start from day 1.
Here's my guess: LT D'Brick LG Kendall C Mangold RG Teague RT Jones Mangold will be flanked by two former centers who can really help him out. Kendall and Teague are two strong guards with intensity, toughness and smarts. Brick and Jones are two athletic bookends. Moore is a backup at both guard spots, while Teague backs up the center spot. Pearson and Clement backup the tackle spots. To me, this is our "beast" line, and "best" one too.
Really? First off most rookies don't start in the nfl period. Remember Vilma and Robertson were supposed to be backups and if it wasn't for injuries neither would have started. Most rookies will not start, Mangold physically is ready to start but playing center in the nfl is one of the tougher positions for a young player. He has to make the pre snap reads and set up the blocking on each play based on what he sees. I don't remember the last rookie that started at center. Only two centers have been taken in the first round in the last 10 years. One of them is Spencer (forget his first name) on the Seahawks and it's 2 years into his career and he still hasn't started. The other one was Jeff Hartins and he spent most of his career as a guard in Detriot. I would not be surpised if Mangold doesn't start his rookie year or if he sees sometime at guard.
Mangold and brick will start... Teague is our backup... It usually depends on training camp but if mangold is going to be passionate and not be like ok im paid the hard work ends here then he wont start, but i think mangold is a blue collar guy and will get the nod.
Going with NYJ1012, no with will know until then. But just because I'll look into my crystal ball for you guys. LT-Brickhouse LG-Kendall C-Mangold RG-Moore RT-Clement
