some really great and intuitive posts in this thread but this one caught my eye the most. 100% dead on. rex needs HIS type of players. i think thats why he brought guys from his system in. people that go to work and understnad they are a professional. i think *most* of the players on our team appreciate and understand that. Rhodes is certainly not one of them. the guy can't even do fundamental things anymore like tackle or provide help over the top
after mangina left, kerry blasted him for using him 'incorectly', which is why his play diminished. wonder what kerry will say about how rex is using him in this defense.
One of the things I like best about this scenario? Braylon: "Ouch, that looks painful. Think I'll try to avoid that..."
Hey Troll. How are you? I actually wasn't disin Braylon. I was suggesting that since Braylon and Kerry are such similar personalities, Braylon might learn from Kerry's mistakes and avoid the cavalier lifesty... Aw, fuck it. Fukk u dikk! Braylon Edwards sux!
LOL, That's makes no sense. If they both suck, how could they learn from each other. THat's why we have teachers.
Of all the Kerry Rhodes garbage to choose from, you pick the play where he makes an open-field tackle on a running back? You can do better than that, can't you?
Was NYJets80 some sort of sleeper agent? He joins in 2005 and waits this long to go off? He had about 40 posts today before he got banned.
that is a good way to get yourself hurt rhodes. what a waste of life can you find the welker one as well
Are you being serious? Rhodes got destroyed on this play. And he didn't really make the tackle, Mauroney decided to run into the contact and deliver the blow. The only reason why Mauroney fell over was because he was expecting a big hit when in reality it was like running into a pee-wee player. He lowered his shoulder and expected Rhodes' hit to straighten him up but instead he just went right thought him. Absolutely embarrassing.
was still a better play than the missed tackle earlier in the game. remember the one where he really should have intercepted the ball but reacted too slowly and then tried to throw a shoulder into the reciever to miss completely.... yeah at least he made the tackle on that one.
Wrap up, you stupid fuck! How the fuck do you expect your shoulders and back alone to stop a charging HB? And great move dipping your head down like that to make the "tackle", leaving your dome completely exposed for a concussion-causing knee to the crown. You're lucky you weren't paralyzed. Good luck with your acting career after that. Although, it might be a nice change of pace, being type-cast as a paraplegic instead of type-cast as a shitty, spousal abusing drug dealer. /end rant.
I bolded the important part. I'd be embarrassed if he actually ran through the tackle, but he didn't. Rhodes tackled him. If some Pats fan wants to come here and kick sand in our faces, at least make him do it correctly.
Exactly! Rhodes has been playing like this before Rex came in. So this has nothing to do with Rex and everything to do with Kerry Rhodes himself. Would Mangini ever sit Rhodes like this? Heck no! How many coaches would? Not too many! Rex is sending his message, dont worry guys.
Rex made it clear in a press conference that he has no problems benching who he thinks is underacheveing. The fact he gives players a lot of liberty and treats them like men doesn't mean he's in love with them and that he will let everyone do what they want. If actions need to be taken (like in this case) he has always said he will and now... ta-da... it happened.
