It was a 2nd rd pick for Austin. Yes if you offer a certain amount to a RFA other teams can sign them but have to give compensation to the team in form of rd picks that depend on the amount of money originally offered by the first team. List of RFA on our roster: http://www.nyjetscap.com/freeagents.html There is a big possibilty that next year goes uncapped because labor negotiations are going really slow. I think it's also in the interest of teams because this would allow them to dump players who are under-performing. Not so much in the interest of players because an uncapped year means there is no ceiling for spending but also no basement so teams with difficult financial situations can cut a lot on expenses. Also teams get like 2 franchise tags and stuff like that... What do you mean an uncapped year isn't really uncapped? Last I checked words are what they mean. The problem is with clubs able to retain players they couldn't before (for example B. Edwards and L. Washington were supposed to be UNrestricted free agents but with the CBa expiring they are restricted) and with some teams looking to cut expenses there actually won't be many big money signings.
AMEN BROTHER! Never realized that there were so many english teachers on this board. LOL, just saw the news with RHODES saying "it is humbling to a player thats done things in this league" then they show the video of him getting run over by Maroney, or is it Baloney? Whatever.
Here's how to fix your problem: Learn how to fucking spell and no one will have to waste their time correcting you anymore. Jesus Christ...how hard is it to realize it's "Rhodes" and not "Roades"? The guy's name is in the title of about 40 threads right now.
Huh? You sure about that? AFAIK, it doesn't count against the cap, but it doesn't void guaranteed money. I mean, a binding contract is just that, regardless of the state of the CBA.
Yeah I thought that too.. it just means the guaranteed money doesn't count against the cap... becuase the cap in unlimited... but you still owe the guy the money. If you don't then: CUT HIM!
he's been good for us and i think he'll get better with time. it'd be retarded to let him go because not only did we give up draft picks for him, we also have coveted a big # 1 receiver for a LONG time. cut dead weight like Kerry Rhodes and give braylon a *reasonable* contract. that 10 mil shit is garbage. i think he'll be happy to be in NY for a reasonable amount. i think tannenbaum is a pretty good negotiator
that might be it then. all i know is that cutting people in an uncapped year is easier than what it does now.
That dropped pass on third down just sticks with me as a red flag. I mean that shit hit him right in the chest. Troubling, he could be brought back, but at a lower contract.
Well, that's what you have to deal with it when you get a player like Edwards. It's the reason why he was shipped out for a 3d round pick. He'll make huge plays but he'll drop routine passes. I still like him and glad he's on the team, but it's something we're gonna have to deal with this from time to time
