No friends im not talking about Brick or Mangold... or even Clemens. The best choice in this draft will turn out to be Leon Washington, you heard it here. The guy is going to be a stud. Sure he's had some durability and size problems, but they were saying the same stuff about Curtis when he came out. I really like the way he's a pure runner, he doesn't rely on god-given ability, he creates and has good vision something that is most important in the NFL. Hes gonna shock some people this year Im telling ya.

You bet he will. I agree 100%. I have a great feeling he will end up being our franchise back for the next decade. Just because it was the pick for herm, you know he is going to be a stud.

I sure hope you are right. I have no faith in him whatsoever.

    He 5' 7 1/2" tall.

That's going to limit him somewhat in terms of the impact he can have. I'd be really happy if he turned into a great kick returner and gunner on special teams.

Bah!! He measured in a 5 feet, 7 and 7/8 inches at the combine. For all intents and purposes, hes about 5'8'', 200. About the same size as Brian Westbrook. Will he be as good? Probably not, but we can all hope. One things for sure- having him and Houston will definitely make for a solid platoon

He looks like he'll be a decent 3rd down, situational back. Can he handle a full-time NFL workload? No one knows for sure, but I doubt it.

    Geez...

I hate to keep putting this kid down but he will never be able to carry a full load and he is too small.

Look at how FSU used him. They used him on a lot of screen passses, dump offs, draws without the shotgun, & draw plays in the shotgun.

What does that tell you? Oh, ya he is a change of pace back and a third down back.

I dont want to make out like I hate the pick or I hate Washington but we just have to be realistic about his abilities.

you're both right--Washington and Moore have lots of potential--I just hope the jets don't waste another year like last trying to convince themselves that Martin and Pennington have something left.

No way this guy is our franchise back. He is going to be a great 3rd down guy ALA Kevin Faulk.

The Jets didn't draft this guy with the intent of giving him 20 carries in a game...he will never be that kind of back. Sorry...

He was good value for a late 4th rd pick, thus one of the JETS better picks of the draft.

    I'll give mangold #1.

The kid's got skills, but like others have said, he may not be able to cary the load, but given the investment, well worth it. Could be a good complement to C. Houston.

Washington will be excitnig to watch. But he is nothing more then a Kevin Faulk type back. Never will carry the full load. They didnt draft him to be a feature back. Martin, Blaylock, and Washington could be a nice mix. Houston might be in trouble for a spot. Moore could be a sleeper. He should have gone in rd3 but he had a acl injury then tweeked it the following year. Moore could be a practice squad player if he has a good summer. Lets not forget Brad Smith. He is the best athlete in there entire draft and they will find a roll for him and try to get him involved if he can handle it. It should be fun to watch these young players this summer.

dont know if anyone can clarify this (to lazy to pop in my dvd's and look for the right one with the skit), but didnt that chappelle's show dice championship skit have chappelle's character named leon washington (i thought this after I saw we drafted him)...maybe it was leonard washington (im fairly certain it was either one of those)

What i dont understand is that if Leon Washington is so good-why wasnt his team that good-the FSU defense had a ton of defensive players taken-especially in the first round-a good defense sets up for a good running game-but clearly he couldnt do it or else FSU could have been in the NC game
