I am neither a lawyer or NFL insider, but it seems to me that Mark attempted to circumvent NFL media access rules by a prepared statement and limited follow up questions. The media is entitled by NFL media-access rules to ask certain individuals for follow-up questions following an NFL game. Interesting to see if the NY media will file a complaint with the NFL.
I don't see how, he never refused questions and the media could have asked for further clarification on any point he already made. It would not have been the first time that someone in an NFL press conference had to answer the same question twice.
Who cares? How many times have people made a statement and then left? You're an idiot JoeJet. Please don't get off your yacht to beat me up tho!
What do these rules or regulations actually say?? Alot of players (T.O., LJ, Ochocinco, Bradon Marshall, Shockey) have gone for long stretches without saying a word to the media, and it's reported that they are doing so, but I have never heard of a fine.
i am neither a lawyer or tgg insider but i believe joejet is trying to circumvent tgg rules by making an awful thread and then trying to deflect criticism. the members of tgg have the right to make fun of people for posting shitty threads. interesting to see how the rest of the board reacts to this.
he should have had a hot dog, opened up the napkin and had the speech written on that. I would have been impressed
once again a couple douches wont let the thread die because they dont like it. i too would like to know what the rules are and what they can and cant do. hopefully someone who knows can wade through all the douchebaggery and give an answer. just because you dont like the thread does not give you right to shit all over it. let the mods close it if there is something wrong with it.
From http://blogmedia.thenewstribune.com/media/Media Policy Revisions-2007 Final.htm Head Coaches – In addition to holding a news conference after every game, head coaches must be available on a regular basis to the media that regularly cover the team during each practice week of the season. At a minimum, the head coach must be available to the local media at least four days during each practice week from training camp through the end of the season. Players – Players must be available to the media following every game and regularly during the practice week as required under league rules and their contracts. It is not permissible for any group of players to boycott the media. Star players with heavy media demands must be available to the media that regularly cover their teams at least once during the practice week in addition to their required post-game media availability. The minimum for such players of one practice-week availability to local media does not include other required media obligations such as visiting team conference calls, network production meetings, and national media interviews arranged by the team. Player Conference Calls – All NFL players are, upon request, required to participate in weekly conference calls with the media from the opposing team’s city. While a player is encouraged to be available for this call every time he is requested, no player is required to do more than five such opposing team/media conference calls each regular season. No player, however, can refuse to participate in the weekly media conference call during the playoffs. Post-Season News Conference/Open Locker Room – Every team is required to 1) open its locker room for player interviews the day after the season ends and 2) hold a news conference during the week following the end of its season with its head coach, and/or owner, and/or club president, and/or general manager. The purpose is to respond to fan interest in the conclusion of the team’s season.
