It really was a bad pass. I know Sanchez was on the run, but not only was it a soft pass, he made him leave his feet to catch it which was why it wasn't a completion.

The fumble wasn't him "trying to make a play" though it was just really sloppy ball handling.

I do not understand how Chad had a noodle arm but Braylon is "a player". You can not go by memory of watching Braylon play in a few Monday night games (where he has played well) but not understand the history on this guy. I live in NE Ohio and the Browns or Steelers are on the local TV.

Just for the record I am not blaming Edwards for the game today, and I hope he is awesome for us. What I am saying is he has more of a "hand problem" than Chad had a "noodle arm". I do not know of a Brown fan (and I work with a ton of them) that was not happy to see him go...they were sick of him dropping passes in the clutch.

The guy has caught everything thrown his way since we got him. Sanchez took too long to throw that ball and he didn't put enough zip on it and the defender made a great play to knock it out. He could have held on but it would have been tough.

Thank you. The ball was behind Edwards and was a floater rather than the bullet it needed to be. That was why Edwards jumped (to slow himself down) and helped him to get killed on that hit. You cannot expect receivers to make the play for the quarterback every time. The QB needs to rifle the ball into the receiver's gut on that play. It's a short pass, it shouldn't be that difficult.

Yep. On the fumble, rather than holding the ball high, Edwards kept the ball on his hip. When he got tackled (he wasn't hit too hard, but he didn't need to be with that ball placement), the ball squeezed out from the flimsy grip of his hand and his hip.

This is such a BS thread. Edwards hands as a Jet have been fine. That play in the end zone was Sanchez thowing the ball to late and the defender crushing the ball out of Braylon's hands. That's not a drop, that's a great play by the defender.

I do think Edwards gets a pass because he has exceeded my expectations since the trade. However, he needs to make that catch in the end zone in that kind of spots. I don't want to hear anything about the throw, that is a play the elite Wrs make every single time and it ended up costing us a chance to play in OT.

    Are you kidding me?
Edwards is one of the few bright spots on this lame ass team. True he shoulda caught that 2 point conversion and held on to that fumble but i can't get on him. He's made some amazing catches for us.
I also gotta give J-CO his props. The guy is one of the most underrated recievers in the NFL.

Braylon tried to make a big play bigger and attempted to stiff arm the DB but missed and the DB knocked the ball out...

on the 2pt. Snachez inexplicably floated the ball to him but he caught it and got popped and dropped it.

Now, While truthfully it's easy to say, He's "#1" or "Possession Receiver" or "a Big WR" and he should have been able to make those plays,
fact is, it's a contributing factor to the loss but NOT the reason for it.

Not really. Edwards hands have always been his biggest knock on him. He is frustrating because all the talent to be a top flight wideout is there, but its the little things that keep him from becoming all he can be in the NFL.

So according to you, there's no such thing as a great wide receiver?

If the high ball catch that caused Mathis to stay on the sidelines isn't confirmation that Edwards is serious about playing I'm not sure what he would have to do to please you. Braylon bounced off the ground like he fell out of the sky but he held on to the ball. That is far from soap hands.

Only reason the ball got punched out of his hands in the end zone was because he was trying to jump 20 feet in the air. He tries to get a huge leap, he did not need to do that

Braylon was fine this game, he just proved to me how fucking much of an animal he is. A ball I thought was overthrown ended up him jumping 43 inches in the air and catching it in his stomach, and he has a CANNON of an arm on that pass attempt. It was a rocket. This guy is just a physical specimen and I am so glad he is on our team.

Bad pass? Yes. Porous defense at the end? No doubt.

But you MUST catch that football, Braylon. That's an awful drop in a huge spot.
