most of us don't like Schotty. I was on the fence but one of Bradway's posts made me jump off on the side of getting rid of him. The shovel pass in the red zone still has me pissed off, and it was against the Raiders 38-0 game. Shovel pass in the red zone when attacking the middle of the field or running made more sense. He just never wants to get a rhythm going
My main problems with him are this: 1. Short yardage. He has become so predictable in the passing routes. He is either going to try to drill one to the tight end over the middle on a 3 yard route that needs two....or he will try play action roll out to a back/receiver running towards the sideline that is either broken up...tackled for a loss..or a perfect pass that barely gets the first down. 2. The lack of throwing deep even to blow a down. You need to throw deep at least a couple times a half. Even if you complete one...or none. Its such a bullshit cliche..but you have to put it in a defenses mind that you MIGHT do it. To add to that, they have used Keller horribly this year with him lined up against linebackers or a safety. They rarely let him stretch a defense and go deep. Now some of that might be Sanchez...but still.
i still think they have the reins on sanchez, and he has thrown deep, but with the vertical weapons the Jets now have they have to try more shots downfield on shitty secondaries. He did let him air it out in the 2nd half of the Fins game. And that game was won if the ST stops one of Ginn's returns. I would like to see the kid make more plays. He has the ability.
edwards was so happy to escape from the clutches of mangini.playing with the jets was a godsend for him.it rejuvinated his desire to excell.
Edwards fitting in, but long-term deal not yet in works by Dan Parr - Nov. 13, 2009 WR Braylon Edwards recently told reporters he would like to be back with the Jets for more than just next season, and even went as far as to say he could see himself retiring as a Jet. But sources say the organization is not jumping to get a long-term done with Edwards, who was acquired in a trade with the Browns in October, and is taking a wait-and-see approach. Edwards will be a restricted free agent this offseason (provided no new CBA is agreed upon and 2010 is an uncapped year), and the Jets are expected to tender him a one-year deal for about $5 million. He hasn?t posted gaudy numbers since being traded, making 13 grabs for 192 yards as the passing game is a work in progress with QB Mark Sanchez learning on the job, but we hear Edwards has done all the right things to ingratiate himself with his new club and his teammates go out of their way to speak highly of him. > http://www.profootballweekly.com/2009/11/13/edwards-fitting-in-but-long-term-deal-not-yet-in-w
