As most everybody knows by now, I co-host a 100% commercial-free, no one makes a dime from it, Sports Talk radio show on Long Island. Tonight, at 9:15PM on LI's 90.3FM, we're going to be joined live by Newsday's Jets beat reporter Rod Boone. Like always, please post any questions that you might have, and we'll ask them. As you know, we always ask questions from TGG. We've got a new wrinkle this season as we're webcast live during the show at http://www.justin.tv/sportstalk And, I will post the interview at our new audio site http://sportstalk903.libsyn.com as soon as humanly possible after the show. Thanks!
Rod, In your opinion why are the Jets getting decimated by all these pulled muscle injuries? Pulled muscles are often a sign of poor conditioning. Is there a problem in the Jets Conditioning program?
Speaking of Erik Boland, if you get a chance to listen to the Yankees interview that we did with him last week, check out from 27:00 on when we discuss the difference between covering baseball and football. From 32:52 to 35:24, it's a discussion about Eric Mangini.
OK, after a cancellation a few weeks back, we'll have Rod on with us tonight at 9PM on Long Island's 90.3FM. Please post your Jets questions for him. You can watch the interview live at http://www.justin.tv/sportstalk or hear it later on tonight at http://sportstalk903.libsyn.com As always, thanks in advance!
ask him about the Gholston pick being pinned on Mangini and what is really going on with that. is it common knowledge amongst the writers?
ask him: Did the Jets make a mistake not pursuing a veteran QB as a backup this offseason? If so, will they pursue one this offseason?
Ask him how many carries Greene might get as the season goes on. How is he doing developing a a blocker and reciever? Will the Jets say goodbye to TJ, and try to sign Leon? Will it be Leon and Greene next year? Will Edwards get re-signed?
Ask Boone if he is aware that he is falling into obscurity since Newsday has become the only paper to not allow free access to their site
Ask him why the Jets, no matter who wears their uniforms, always wind up losing games to teams they're supposed to beat.
Ask him if there is any word on how Rex Ryan is doing in terms of self assessment regarding head coaching, and specifically if if he is truly "getting" that he is not a DC anymore. Ask him if Rex is trying to delegate, and improve his management skills, and look at himself honestly and critically in terms of learning from his own mistakes as the season goes on
How, on a scale of 1-10, do you think that the Jets coaching staff would rate Mark Sanchez's development from week 1 to the present day? Do you think that the reports of Gholston being a Mangini guy from the start are factual, or a case of the organization trying to cover its ass? How successful has the Braylon Edwards deal been in the eyes of the coaching staff? How confident are the Jets that Sione Pouha can continue to play well in place of Kris Jenkins?
