Okay normally i hate hypothetical situations especially for our unpredictable squad, that said looking at the schedule i see a ray of light..And it shines in late December in Indianapolis. I know I'm nuts, but by the time we play them the Colts might already have home field locked up in the AfC which means...LITTLE OR NO PEYTON MANNING which means...WE WIN...so if we can take care of the "easy games" (tampa, buffalo, jacksonville, carolina) and maybe steal a win vs the Falcons at home, we just might be able to sneak in to the wildcard
Yeah they sit manning and start Sorgi and he looks like johnny u on us and kills our playoff dreams. Thats the most likely scenerio.
I'm SOOOO sick and tired of backing into playoff scenarios or relying on other teams for help. I thought, just this one freaking time, that this year might be different... that we could run it and not depend on anyone else. I don't want to "sneak" into the playoffs. But oh no.... this is the freaking Jets we're talking about. 40 years a Jets fan and this is the shit you've got to deal with over and over again.
the tough games will deteremine weather or not the jets make the playoffs.6-2 in the second half should do it.That means the jets will have to win 1 of those games...i'm excited about this team.
We'll beat the Pats. I think we can win every remaining game on our schedule. Call me crazy, and I'm sure many of you will. We could've beaten the Saints, the best team in the league. Those errors will be take care of and will finish strong. I don't care what any of the self proclaimed "darksiders" say, we are not out of this by a long shot. All phases have had their wake up call now. In all seriousness, watch them come out of the bye week and just stomp over opponents.
We arent out of the playoffs by any means. Patriots crushed titans who are worse and more demoralized then when we played them and they crushed tampa like we crushed the raiders. Pats havent proven anything yet. I think dolphins beat pats which is bittersweet and then we can be even with them if we beat them on the road. We arent out we just need to pull together and have a couple good games now and stop blowing it against worse teams.
We are not depending on anyone. As they say is, the destiny is in our hands. We win out, we reach the playoffs. Its not that hard of an equation. We won't be depending on other teams and other results...I guarantee you that!
We arent out we just need to pull together and have a couple good games now and stop blowing it against worse teams. Thats gonna be real easy
The one thing that will get them into the playoffs is going 7-1 in the second half. 10-6 won't do it with a 1-3 division record. Of all the teams that are 3-4 or better only one has two division losses, Jacksonville. All the rest only have 1
lol finish 10-6 with a 1-3 division record did our schedule change are we done playing buffalo and NE.
No, 1-3 is the Jets current division record. The Jets are currently 2 full games behind 9 teams in division record, that at the moment might be tied with the jets for the 2 Wild Card spots. They are 1 full game behind Jacksonville. Baring some bizarre happenings in the second half of the season, at least 2 of these teams will be 10-6. The Jets will need to be 11-5 to overcome the second tie breaker. Only other way would be for the Pats to have an epic collapse, and the Jets to win the division. In order for that to happen the Pats would almost have to be swept by both the Jets and Dolphins. If the Fish beat the pats on Sunday they will be ahead of the Jets in the standings.
learn how the NFL tiebreaker works .. First one is head to head, the 2nd one is CONFRENCE RECORD.... Jets have tiebreaker on the texans, they play jaxonville next week, they still have Cinci... If Jets somehow beat the Pats in Foxboro they would have tiebreaker in division on them.
I believe that division record is only used in tie-breaking scenarios when both (or the 3) teams are in the SAME division. From the NFL website: TO BREAK A TIE FOR THE WILD-CARD TEAM If it is necessary to break ties to determine the two Wild-Card clubs from each conference, the following steps will be taken. If the tied clubs are from the same division, apply division tie breaker. If the tied clubs are from different divisions, apply the following steps. Two Clubs Head-to-head, if applicable. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four. Strength of victory. Strength of schedule. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed. Best net points in conference games. Best net points in all games. Best net touchdowns in all games. Coin toss. So our division record has no bearing unless we're competing with the Fins/Bills/Pats (whichever didn't actually win the division) for the wildcard *Edit, whoops, two posters beat me to the punch.
