Someone name for me the last morbidly obese head coach to win a Super Bowl... Don't give me Holmgren, Parcells or Madden because if you go back to those teams you'll see they were much slimmer then and were obese at worst. Not morbidly obese. Parcells circa 1990 was bordering on morbid status. Point being that Rex Ryan better push away from the table more often if the Jets have any hope of winning anything. 2009 - Mike "Omar Epps" Tomlin 2008 - Tom Coughlin (that stings as a Patriots fan) 2007 - Tony Dungy 2006 - Bill Cowher 2005 - Bill Belichick 2004 - Bill Belichick 2003 - Jon Gruden 2002 - Bill Belichick 2001 - Brian Billick 2000 - Dick Vermeil 1999 - Mike Shanahan 1998 - Mike Shanahan Other prominent coaches - Seifert, Walsh, Ditka, Gibbs, Jimmy Johnson, Switzer, Noll, Shula, Lomabrdi...etc..
so...you're attributing "Super Bowl success" to one's weight? god...I hope you play with guns. dunce cap.
Not sure but the Pirates suck, they have no NBA team, and the Penguins won a title on Versus. Here in NE I've been to 6 championship parades in the last eight years.
Yeah, but the Pittsburgh is titletown for now (Pens, Steelers). We were title town from 2001 to 2008. Fair is fair. You win two in the same year you get be titletown for the time being. Titletown is not a forever title. It's like the Stanley Cup, you pass it around.
How do you figure? You won 2 in the same season exactly once in that time (well, twice if we count 2007 MLB and 2008 NBA). I mean, if we're going to count Boston and "New England" as the same region, then shouldn't LA have been titletown in 2002 after the Lakers and Angels both won? I'd even say that New York/New Jersey would win a tiebreaker in 2003 based on the Devils winning the championship and the Yankees and Nets both advancing to the finals. Or we could just admit that the whole "Titletown" thing is utter bullshit and invented simply to give Bostonians another way to uselessly prop themselves up.
very scientific. well done. I assume you made a similar poll years ago on Indy, Cincy and Pittsburgh boards about how no black coach has ever won either, too, didn't you?
Something to think about though- these coaches are all exposed to only the best trainers, docs and facilities. How in God's name can they still be such big, fat turds? Why not work out with the players while they are in the weightroom? An hour on the treadmill, walking? I don't get it.
You have a point, but how many coaches can be put in this category? I see alot of thin coaches on the sidelines as well. Alot of former players like Wisenhunt, Singletary, Kubiak....etc.
Has anyone looked into the idea that maybe it's large bone structure. I have heard from many a large person that bones can affect things. I've heard it referred as big-boneded. Let's look at all the facts.
anyone notice that the Patriots have never won a Super Bowl in a year ending in 9 or 0. looks like the Pats aren't winning this season.
FAT COACHES LAST WON THE SB ON 01/27/91 WHICH IS NOW OVER 18 YEARS AGO OR TO SAY IT ANOTHER WAY IT IS NOW BEEN OVER 6,600 DAYS SINCE FAT PEOPLE LAST WERE WORLD CHAMPs OF THE FB WORLD. A FATASS IS NOW 0 FOR HIS LAST 18 IN BRINGING A CHAMPIONSHIP TO FATVILLE.
let me guess they were playing that lame dropkick murphies song and afterwards you blew some guy in the parking lot
