What the fuck kinda crack is being smoked here? The guy is a ROOKIE and had an ok half, so what do we do instead put KC on? KC will never be a serious option EVER apart from injury cover. We need to stop putting pressure on Sanchez, okay it hurts but maybe this year isn't our year time to let the guy play, learn his trade properly, cut the guy some slack FFS!:jets:
I have to agree that the pull Sanchez idea made no sense. And look what he did in the second half. Minus that 4th down play to end the game, he had a very good second half.
Yeah it's like the guys running this site are really dumb with that idea. Lets but Clemens in yeah that'll be perfect. In fact lets go back in time and draft Favre so he would've always been a Jet! Yeah PERFECT! Let this guy get better this loss was NOT his fault at all. The fumble for a TD, the 2 kick returns for TDs, and the play calling at the end. RUN TJ when you have 3 tries!
He looked like garbage the first half. He pulled it together in the 2nd. I don't see how he can take the fall for this one.
Don't get that idea at all. The guy played a great 2nd half and probably his best game yet. The OC is killing this team. Let the kid take some shots down the field early please. The guy has been bad for a while now but for some reason he is highly though of in the NFL. They must not watch many Jet games.
This loss is definitely Schotty's fault. It is completely on his shoulders for not calling a play action pass during the two MIA kick returns for TDs.....
Schotty is not perfect, but he doesn't play on kickoff coverages. Schotty didn't fumble the ball deep in our end. The playcalling is scaled back for Sanchez.....a direct order from Rex. Opening the playbook in the 2nd half when we were behind...Mark played better. I say let Sanchez make all the plays...don't handcuff him. This is the year for Sanchez to learn NFL defenses and make mistakes.
Weren't a lot of Jet fans demanding that we run a more conservative offense after the Bills game? Which one does everyone want?
At the game you can actually hear people (just a couple but still) screaming "bench Sanchez" or "get him outta hear". I think some Jet fans like watching their team lose and like to have something to be mad about.
There was a time in the first half I was thinkning the same thing but he wasn't being allowed to play through 3 1/2 qtrs and when they finally allowed him to play he was great.
I've been saying it all year, this teams lives and dies with Sanchez. The running game is great but it's not nearly as explosive as the passing game. When he's having a rough day, sure call more of a ground game to reel him back in. That being said, when the game is on the line, I'd much rather have him in control. I'd love to know what the redzone TD percentage is for this team. I've missed 3 games this season but the ones I did see, it seems like more often than not, it's a TD over a FG.
I have been a fan for a long time...you can't blame him for for shitty special teams.Grant it...very loss we have had we gave away..but "bench him"? no..for what Clemens????
That's true but the Bills D couldn't stop our running and Miami put up more of a fight, so we should have mixed it up more against their rookie CBs. By the way I HATE THAT FUCKING BASTARD FANECA.
Exactly what I was bitching about. If you are not going to let him throw the ball because you don't trust him, then you have to make a switch. I wish they had just been a little more aggressive in the first half and ran a few three wide sets, nothing crazy but damn a few times they were running a goalline set 30 yards from the endzone. It was funny to see but did not do much.
This won't work. I had similar thoughts myself earlier this season, but this is not Baltimore or Pittsburgh. It's not a place where the fan base can just sit back and acknowledge that we have a rookie QB and cut him (and the team) some slack when they lose games as a result. A 2 or 3 pick game in which the picks are decisive will bring out the boobirds and cause us real long term trouble as well as losing the game. I think the Jets need to do mainly what they have been doing the last two games. They need to establish the run and drive the other team into the ground with it. If they need Sanchez to throw the ball then they'll have to do that, but if they ask him to throw it 30 times when they don't need to they're just asking for trouble and for Sanchez career to be much less than it otherwise might have been. The Jets have gotten in deep trouble, and lost at least two games (Buffalo and yesterday) when they asked Sanchez to throw the ball when it was not strictly necessary to do so. Yes, they needed Sanchez to throw the ball a bit in situations yesterday but they also had him throw the ball several times when a run would have been a better call. Sanchez should NEVER be asked to throw the ball on a play where a run is an equal call or better. Next year he'll have a year more in the system and some much needed experience under his belt and we can take the wraps off some but for this year protect the rookie is not only a better motto for Sanchez but it will likely win more games as well.
