WHere do owners go from here? Pierre thomas is clearly the most talented back in the best O in the NFl, however Mike Bell gets the goal line carries. One of them has to be considered fantasy viable, but the question is, who? (not counting reggie cuz he is really more of a slot back than an RB, most of his touches come off catches or reverses/trick plays) PLus/Negs for Pierre + most talented RB on roster + much more elusive and faster than Bell + gets majority of carries and some catches + at this point last year had the same favorable sched. and went off. - as of now not the goal line back - reggie bush also steals carreis - injury prone - Has never been a workhorse or lead back +/- for Bell + clearly the goal line back + paytons proclaimed "closer" so gets 4th quarter carries + hard inside runner/bruiser that wears down defenses - If pierre lights it up he becomes the 3rd back - not the most talented guy out there/straight line runner - is not involved at all in passing game As an owner of both backs I am torn. Do I wait it out? jump ship and try and trade one or both? hope one goes off or gets injured? If you are/or were a fantasy owner how would u treat the situation? Who would you start? Thoughts? Feelings? Predictions? ps. I wouldn't start both of them, and only desperate or weak teams should be starting both, my team wouldn't fall under that category. I am leaning towards trade, but worried about being burned a la his last four games at the end of the 08 season.
Seems like Pierre has headed into the dreaded RB by committee category. It is a hard read but a good player from a year ago has seen touches taken by both Reggie Bush and Bell, and it is hard to argue with the results.
