I think hes still signed through 2009. But I do think that this will be his last year altough I do see an outside chance of him sticking around again next year.

The guy runs like a 5.0 40, dump him, dont get emotional....it's a business. Every guy who plays now will tell you that!

Nah, he still has two more seasons in him. Then I think he will retire.

Curtis is gonna put up monster numbers again like 2 years ago. Last year he 1. played behind a shitty oline (which nobody can argue is improved) 2. played with a knee injury all year

    Curtis for 1,500 in '06

Curtis might stick around on limited duty like Freeman did on his last year. how bout as a running back coach for the Jets...and train the young folks for the next 2 or so?

I know everyone will bash me as I am friends with Curtis... He sated that this most likely will be his last as he as other buisness ventures going on with real estate deals and a bunch of car dealerships that he owns.

I think it is all dependant on what happens this year. If the line can handle the run, and not have him get beat up on every single play, then his body might be able to handle another year after this. That's a big if though. Depending on who you listen to, Brick is either good enough to protect the run at a fair level, or he can't do it at all. (Personally, I have no clue which it is.)

The other important factor I think would be the progress of the team this year. If we look vastly improved, I think Martin would return a la Brett Favre. We all know that Martin would give back all of those 1000 yard seasons if it meant a title. If we look like '07-'08 is a legit shot at the SB, I can see Curtis returning for that final run. Just like I rooted for the Steelers this year for Bettis, I would overwhelmingly root on the Jets for Martin. (Not that I wouldn't cheer for a run anyway, but if anyone deserves it, it's Curtis.)

Yes i know you were exagerating but he definately runs better than a 5.0 40 plus i dont know if you can remember this but he played with a bum knee last year! That is why he was a step slower not to mention our Oline. Have you ever tried to run into a bunch of 300 pound guys on one knee-im predicting Curtis comes back and plays more like the Curtis of 04 than 05

I hope Curtis runs for 1600 or 400 no matter what I have always liked the guy, he is a class act! But the NFL is a business, when your tire goes bald you change it. His time has come & gone.........I want some one that moves the hole or goes around it......not just hits it!!

It's past time--I was hoping we'd go with Houston and Washington this year--good teams move on and don't cling to past glory--
