Just finished watching Rex Ryan's press conference today. I counted about 4 or 5 Woodhead questions. It's been like this all year. Who gives a sh*t about a 3rd string barely above practice squad player?

Because if he were to succeed it'd have "Cinderella story" written all over it. The media loves Cinderella.

Can't you see it now? An animated Disney adventure with a heart warming story about a few underappreciated and unloved football chipmunks who just wanted to win a championship?

We'll call it... Alvin Keels and the Woodheads

haha. i just don't get it. why is it such a big deal? the underdog/cinderella potential is with david clowney and danyn woodhead. both have made the team and are enjoying their respective roles. to me, this is great. some people just have nothing better to do with their time.

He's an undersized, undrafted, white running back - he fits the underdog role perfectly. He's going to be our Wes Welker.

For what its worth i was joking. I honestly think its cause he is a from a small school and is undersized, for the nfl, and he is the kind of guy average joes can relate to. There is no denying one thing the kids got talent i honestly cant wait to see if he can translate it to the NFL. And with Leon out this is going to be his one(hopefully not only) shot...

Maybe he's related to the infamous Leslie Woodhead.

Even better his Dad could be Buddha Balls Woodhead.

Both options are not better then the obvious, which is that Danny represents the "Joe Six Packs", don't you know....

Agreed with the Cinderella story aspect. You see...even though Leon and Woodhead are in the same size range (so you can't use the size factor) Woodhead coming from a small college adds that spin. Doesn't really matter that he was the NCAA leader. That kind of gets tinged because of the fact he is from a small school. If I was a journalist I'd be all over it to try and be the first to break any kind of interesting news. Just a though.

    Peace!

On top of most of the above, he tore it up in preseason and plenty of people are curious to see what he can do against better competition. Myself included...

Yeah, I could be wrong but I think he signed as an undrafted rookie free agent before the draft ended

    Yes he was an UFA.

No the Jets didn?t sign him before the draft ended. Your not allowed to do that. In case someone drafts him with the last pick.

The story was, they had contacted his agent before the draft ended, and started some people in the league whining.
