Are you guys concerned by what you saw from the defense yesterday? The Run D looked poor. Fargas was running all over us. The absense of Jenkins is going to keep this D from being dominant, which is what we need them to be to have any shot at something this year.

Yes I'm concerned we allowed 0 points.

The interior of the line at times looked like swiss cheese and other times looked stout. They are going to need to put together some consistency if we are going to beat the Phins.

There may be some, but who is noticing besides you? Our D just put up another shutout.

You can still bend but, don't break at times...... The Fins run on a lot of teams...

You just can't let Chad freaking Henne beat you over the top or convert too many 3rd downs....

This D needs to bend, don't break and then take advantage and get a Turnover or 5.

I agree with putting in consistency, especially through the inside of the D.

I also think guys like B. Thomas are not bringing enough pressure.

Let's also remember that if there is one thing the Raiders do well that's running the ball.

    All over us?

We've given up 4 TD's on the ground this year.

The Raiders were playing from way behind.

You should expect to give up chunks on the ground in that situation.

next week will be a stifling test for our Run D. I don't hold much creedance for the Raiders...they didn't put up much of a fight....although, Fargas ripped off a couple of nice runs on us.

This Sunday will tell us whether the Run D is legit or not....and if we have what it takes to compete in the coming weeks.

It's a bit of a shallow victory for the D, imo. Horrible opponent with a poor QB. What will be the case when they next face the Miami Wild cat? Ryan had better come up with a more productive game plan than was used the last meeting. Without Jenkins, it looks pretty moot, but perhaps they can rely on the concept of a speedy defense this time?

We were definitely giving them the run yesterday, and it was a smart move. But there were some breakdowns in the interior of the line, mainly with Pouha getting embarrassed a lot, and they gashed us for longer runs than they should have.

allowing the shutout to fool you that this team's defense will not have trouble stopping the run is something I expect from most fans.

Last year some posters went nuts about the awful pussy defense that was played last year during wins, and that defense came to bite the Jets down the stretch last year. They saw the writing on the wall when some chose to ignore it.

This year, Jenks is gone - Green and Pouha have to step up and be at the very least be adequate stopping the run or else this team will be in dogfights for TOP the rest of the year. Nevermind scoring.

To think that the run defense is fine is foolish. The Raiders are not a team to gauge anything on. it was the abundance of turnovers that led to a shutout. Not run stopping.

very concerned, but how many times did fargas break a big one and then the next play get stuffed for no gain? i expect that miami will break some nice runs and score some points on us, but can the D do enough to give the offense a chance?

Oakland is ranked #26 in the rush. Dolphins #2.

I'm concerned about the rush defense. With the way the Dolphins play, if you don't respect their rushing attack, they'll beat you.

Last game we weren't attacking the ball but the players weren't staying in their lanes at the start of play.

I believe Rex will fix this, but after typing that it does sound kind of retarded. Stay in your lane, but at the same time attack the ball??

    Go Defense!!

A lot of the yards came in garbage time, but there is no excuse for the D going soft, even when we have backups in.

What I think is more worrying is that Oakland WRs dropped some balls that would haev converted first downs. Also, Kerry Rhodes is still not making noticeable plays. He's not noticeably looking bad either, but he is supposed to be a dynamic playmaking defensive player and right now he's looking normal.

Jim Leonard is outplaying Rhodes right now.....and it's not even close, IMO.
