Uh, knocking Pace for being rusty in the Miami game doesn't make one incompetent, it makes one a keen observer-- he looked like shit in his first 2 games back and looked un-instinctive. And he did have a great game today-- the opposite of un-instinctive.
Pace was a super beast today. we are really going to need him next week to step up and play the run well.
he needed a few weeks to get in the groove and he found it today. just another thing jets fans overreact about.
pace looked much better this week but it was silly to expect him to play well against the fish. He has a new coach and new system it takes some time to shake the rust off. I actually expected it to take longer then it apparently has
this is exactly the kind of play we need from this defense. Sacks fumbles interceptions get to the quaterback and you give your team a good chance to win
It's not the fact that people knocked him for being rusty that I have an issue with. However it is the fact that people suggested that Gholston should replace him after a few rusty games that wreaks of total incompetence. Any keen observer can watch and see that Pace is head and shoulders above Gholston and to even suggest that one or two shaky games by Pace would call for a move to Gholston is not keen at all. It's short sighted as I said, and Pace proved this today with more production in one game than Gholston has had in his entire career to date.
Great game for Pace, He was dominant today 3 Sacks 2 Forced Fumbles 7 Tackles and 2 Tackles for a Loss.
Another great game for Revis, but Pace was the defensive player of the week no doubt. Dominating performance. Was this his best game as a Jet? I think it may have been. Sterling LB play can somewhat make up for a weaker DL. Maybe play like Pace's can somewhat make up for Jenkins being out.
After the game Pace said he and Thomas exchanged defensive assignments for the game, would Brian Thomas have had 3 sacks and 2 FF's ? I don't think so...
