What? I am simply quoting you and you're calling out my math? Lemme explain then. How many times do u see a 30 yard punt being returned in a game? In a season? When was the last time you saw a 30 punt being returned at all? You might get to see it once in a few wks in the NFL but the average of those punts will NEVER be 15 yards a return.

A 40 yard punt does get returned but the NFL average, again, is far less than 15, and maybe even less than 10.

Tell me one thing: Do you think there is a difference in kickoff returns and punt returns? If you don't think so, then here's a fact: In a kickoff return, coverage unit travels about 35 yards when the returner catches. He doesn't have a defender in front of him for 35+ yards and then the gap reduces when he returns. Thats why you can easily average 25 yards a kickoff return with couple of good moves.

In a punt return, the coverage unit is with 10 yards of the returner when he catches (usually). If he doesn't make the first guy miss, he won't get more than 5 yards. He has to juke at least 2 defenders before getting 10 yards. And, as you put it, if the returner is to cut the punt in half and return it for 20 yards, then he better be dodging about 4 or 5 guys. And in the NFL, dodging 4-5 guys is piece of cake, isn't it?

You can't make shitty threads (for the second time) without being attacked. As it should be.

Leonhard at PR isn't even a top 20 problem with this team, if it's a problem at all.

I would like to see Woodhead try and return punts (yes I know, same old Woodhead love) but all in all I think Leonhard is a good PR, or at least a very reliable one!

Nobody is pretending to be tough over the internet, people are saying your thread is stupid because it is.

If you don't know football you shouldn't start threads, I don't think that's unreasonable.

I think the difference between the two which is big is that On kickoffs there running full speed and when they get to the point of attack they can unload rather with punt returns they do run full speed up to the point of attack but then have to pull off the throttle so they don't get there to early and get a penalty which in turn is an advantage towards the returner a couple of side steps and jukes here and there and they could get some decent yards.. Its on if not the toughest job on the field because you have to run into the pack at full speed and sometimes you win and sometimes you lose ...

Who makes you or anybody else on this Message Board the Cris Collinsworth, Dan Marino, Bob Costas of a Message Board? As I recall you were allowed to post threads on anything you wanted to post on. If its not for you then move on...

if you dont know as much about football as me you are RETARDED. you are stupid and i am not afraid to tell you how stupid you are on the interwebs!!!

im not being a dick your just dumb and so is this thread you should stop using the interwebsnetthingy!!!!!

seriously guys, it was a bad thought to start the thread, someone COULD have come in here and pleasantly explained to him where his thought was flawed, but NO that wouldnt be enough.... INSTEAD everyone has to post to a bad thread keeping it on page 1 for days just so they can talk shit about a poster.

sure its a bad thread, either answer it or move on... trust me if someone answers it pleasantly it will be gone from the front page in no time flat.

two best people suited to do it are revis and leon who are way too important to have back there. sometimes you just have to put someone back there that you know wont take one back but wont loose you a game by doing stupid shit ala mouton in the titans game. i remeber for a time we had chrebet back there.

dude is 5th in the AFC. What the fuck do you people want? Perfection? TDs on every return?

Then the bitching would be about the fact that every time a team punts the Jets score a TD and Sanchez never sees the field so why do we have an offense?

If you don't want to use your brain, throw it in the trash.

i created some bad threads early on in my membership. I never got chewed out the way others do.

its all about how the argument/question/idea is presented.

It doesn't deserve a pleasant answer because it was a stupid question that had already been brought up before. It did not become any less stupid during the time between the two threads.

I dont want Leon returning punts. Leon has a lot more duties on Offense now like the Original poster said.

Revis is a good PR but you cant risk one of your best players getting hurt returning punts.

Let Leonhard do it. He's sure handed back there and like somebody brought up earlier in the thread he is top 5 in the AFC in doing it. I see no problem with the job he is doing.

to me ..its more important to have a guy that NEVER fumbles,,,rather than a great return ave.....we more than likely could have lost to Titans...thanks to their great punt returner

As long as he doesn't drop the ball I'm good with him catching punts. If he can get some yds after the catch thats great. But the most important thing is to hold on the ball.

Leonhard has had some nice returns this year and is sure-handed (knocks on wood). I don't know the stats off hand, but I would bet his average is pretty close to where Leon's was last year, possibly even higher

Is there anything Woodhead can't do? By what some posters say, it's like this guy is our best WR, HB, and PR all rolled up in one...

I think he could slot in nicely at NT in Jenkins' absence.
