"For the first time in recent memory Jets fans cheered"

WTF is he talking about? They cheered in 2003 for Robertson and Vilma in 2004. Nice way to start the article...with a stupid statement.

When are people going to realize that Adrian Jones is NOT a natural right tackle!!

He started in career off at Kansas as a tight end and then coaches moved him to left tackle for his final two years there, because he was light and had quick feet to handle the speed rushers.

The only reason why we had him start last year at RT is because the Jets FO thought Fabini could handle the speed rush still. Obviously that wasnt the case. Fabini struggled and so did Jones because Jones was playing out of postition at RT and having a hard time run blocking against the bigger defensive ends.

Then our staff last year moved Jones back to his NATURAL side at Left Tackle because he could handle the pass rush better than Fabini.

Jones struggled at RT last year compared to when he played LT.

In my opinion I think the coaches realize this still. I would not be surprised him Jones did not start and RT next year and it goes to Clement. Cuz Clement has more size and can run block better.

Dude, this article has so many errors, its ridiculous.

As PATJ, wtf is he talking about us booing for the past several years

Who the F is Eric Davis?

Ferguson we all know was a good pick, but we also know hes not a dominant run blocker

Jones natural freakin position is LT, not RT, as mentioned above. Hes about 40 some pounds light of being able to anchor in the run game

That article lost all credibility when they said Adrian Jones' natural position is RT.

Not to mention that the Jets apparently contracted a company to write articles for its website. "Real Football Services"?

What a bunch of happy horse shit this is!

But while he gives the Jets a cornerstone type player, an anchor for the line, his selection also allows the team to move their second-best young O-lineman, Adrian Jones, back to his natural position at RT, upgrading two positions for the price of one.

everyone gets to wrapped up in this LT, RT BS.. Mangini is trying to build an athletic OL and there won't be a more athletic tandem than DBrick & Jones.. Times are changing there are a hell of alot more speed rushers playing DE than in years past.. Jones will be fine at RT..

He started out as a TE, but then moved to LT.

That's not the point. They said Jones' natural position is RT, but that's false. If you want to be taken seriously as a football source like these guys are, you need to get your facts straight.

What bothered me was that he said Clemens doesn't have the strongest arm?
Everything else I've read said Clemens' arm is strong, second only to Cutler's.

    The article has many errors.

    1. This is the 3rd first round pick in a row where the Jets fans cheered.
    2. Adrian Jones natural position is left tackle.
    3. We did not draft 3 players in the top 64 in 2005. We traed for one and drafted two, one of which was a kicker.
    4. It's Eric Smith, not Eric Davis.
    5. Clemens arm was widely considered to be the second strongest after Cutler.

Here's looking to more craptacular submissions in the future!

I didn't expect an article from the official nyj website to provide anything more then full blown optimision, but for god's sake spell the names right and research the facts before writing about them.

I saw that article on the site and decided not to read it because it had homer piece written all over it. Going through this thread, it was a wise decision.

I doubt itll change so much so fast that Jones will go from a crap fit at RT to a fantastic one in 1 year

Who says he is a crap fit at RT? Besides a bunch of Jets fans on a MB.. You are right, he wasn't that great at RT but you gotta realize his time at RT was the first time he played in an NFL game. He did get better at LT, after some NFL experience just as he would have gotten better if he stayed at RT.. The days of the bull rushing DE's are over, replaced with the speed rushers, therefore creating the need for athletic RTs..
