Everybody knows the answer to this..or should. We won SB 3 and angered the football gods, forced the merger of the AFL and NFL and the rest as they say is history.
All of these injuries got me wondering - it seems like we've had more injuries in the first 6 games of this season than we had in 3 years of Mangini. Maybe Mangini's brutal training camps had made the Jets stronger and more injury-resistant? Maybe it was the schemes? The number of injuries we've had this year has been ridiculous....
Hangover game, Happens to every NFL team. There was so much emphasis put on beating the Phins that when they lost the rest of the week the team lacks focus. You guys will get it together, you don't forget how to win overnight. In regards to the analysts they go with what will get ratings I.E. New England, Matt Ryan, raging on losing teams, etc.
You want a reason? God is punishing us that blasphemous thread about Revis... I told you guys it would come back to haunt us. :breakdance:
Oh nooo, mister bill! What ever did we do to insult the football gods! We root for a team in a league of 32 teams and their chances of winning are slim! We have a rookie head coach and a rookie QB, why can't they win the Super Bowl? We have an oft-injured NT who just got hurt in one of the most violent sports in the world? What calamity! It's football. This stuff happens. There are teams that are much worse off than we are. We have a promising defensive-minded HC with an excellent pedigree, a young QB with great tools who is taking some early lumps, and a very talented roster. Things will get better.
As I said in another thread, if it wasn't for Italy winning the World Cup in '06 all I would have is one measly World Series win since I was born. All I have is '86 (Mets) and '06 (Italy). Long suffering Jets & Mets fan EDIT: Aw sh*t - forgot about the '82 world cup. OK but I was only 9 years old!
I know I'm being punished for rubbing out a batch to Jessica S's pic. The Football gods frown upon that.
I had the Yankees until I quit watching baseball. I don't know if I have to give up the memory of those World Series when I turn in my fan card, but if so I've got one final four appearance for my alma mater and a Ducks Stanley Cup.
Saying the team is 3-3 is hardly on point. The team has lost three straight and in increasingly poor fashion. We'd obviously be looking at a very different situation if they had won the last three to bring it up to .500. It's the trend that is so bothersome.
The way I see it, this is the rock bottom, only up from here. We have lost our main defensive player and we lost to one of, if not the worst team in the league. Yeah, it can get worse, but not a whole lot worse. Maybe having to put up with Raiderjeaux if we lose to the Raiders. That would be worse. The astronomical expectations are not there anymore. There are no more gimme wins. I don't think anyone expects us to win the AFC East anymore. The one good thing about yesterday's crapfest is that it has lowered the pressure a little bit in regards to expectations. After losing probably our best player and realizing that our QB is not going to be another Flacco or Ryan this year, no coach/team would be able to recover unscathed after that. All they can do is put the best team out there and play hard. I think they will play better with less pressure. Whether or not that correlates to wins, we'll see.
