I was at the game today and gave my full support, basically have no voice at this point. It was hard to cheer today and after Sanchez's fifth interception in overtime i ripped my Sanchez jersey off and threw it on the ground and stomped it out. I know he's a rookie and he's gonna have these games but that was awful today and very frusturating to watch. He has to start playing like he has showed he's capable of and stop being hit or miss or he's gonna run us far out of contention. We fans love to get excited and cheer but our team needs to give us something to be excited about. Please
i was there and stayed till the end and made as much noise as i could but there wasnt much to cheer about. sorry but im not gonna go wild for sub par crap like that.
Yea i was there too yelling with friends and i did notice alot of empty seats. But the crowd was into it and going nuts when the bills missed the fg and when lowery picked off the pass. So depressing geting those coffee mugs.
In my experience going to games over the years, with a couple exceptions, jet fans suck. particularly at crowd noise. nothing new
That's a joke.....you cheer to help the team...you don't just cheer when they're doing well. I think part of the reason this team sucks is its terrible fanbase. Jets fans are absolute jokes. I guess we're "long suffering" so that makes it ok. Ok. Keep telling yourself that. I say get off your fucking ass and cheer. Get off your fucking ass and make an impact on the game. Does Rex have to call everyone before every game? Jets fans IMPACTED THAT GAME. My friend said half the stadium left the game at halftime....unacceptable. edit: I know this is a bit of a ravenous post, but I really feel that we as Jets fans can make a difference. And I feel that not everyone believes it! Who would leave this game at halftime, if they truly believed it?
OK i got ya. I now understand why SEC 338 seems to always look empty. But what about the rest of the stadium. The crowd was quiet from the start and if you were there you would know what im talking about.
Im in 339 and I love section 338 because its all the visitors fans so I have someone to yell at. But I did notice that the entire stadium looked empty. However you say that we were not loud, there were times on 3rd and 7 we would get loud. But in OT Sanchez asked us to be quiet. This personally pissed me off, he is so worried about the fans when he can't complete a damn pass. This team is imploding right before our eyes.
I've had ST for 30 years and I can tell you nothing kills a crowd and enthusiasm more than a cold rainy day. Yes, I know it didn't rain. You have to remember, however, that many Jets STH come from LI. It was predicted that it would rain all day Sunday. The rain cleared out early, but I'm sure a lot of people had decided not to go by then. Sitting in the rain sucks. I will gladly go in heat, extreme cold, and snow, but I hate going in the rain. By the way, I was at the game today. If people want to criticize fans, criticize them for not getting their butts in the stadium on time, for not getting back to their seats after halftime, and for not staying until the end of the game. The stadium was about 30% full at kickoff. How does that generate excitement? The stadium was about 20% full at the start of the 2nd half. The stadium was about 40% -50% full during the OT. Don't criticize the fans that were there. Go after the pseudo fans who can't tell time, who can't sit still for 12 minutes at halftime, and who would rather beat traffic than see the end of games.
What about the stadium being about 60-70% full? I was trying to make 2 points in my post. 1 being crowd noise and the other being lack of a crowd.
Its obvious that a lot of the fans didnt show up because of the weather but I bet some didnt show up because of the loss last week. And can you really blame them for leaving early? Who wants to go through the misery of that loss? When the players dont give the crowd something to cheer about, the crowd isnt going to cheer.
I stayed, I always stay. But today, for some reason the line to get into our gate(B) was Super long today! Mind you, we always get in early...shit, I practice what I preach. So I'm thinking well at least the fans showed up today.. NOPE! That crowd was pathetic! I was pissed.
I actually walked toward gate B first today but once i saw that line i went over to Gate C which wasnt any better. It did take a long time just getting into the stadium today. I used to think alot of the problems with Gate B had to do with the new stadium next door until i seen gate C. same problem
Go into the stadium earlier then. It's only crowded at the gate if you go in close to game time. I never have a problem.
Put a decent product on the field if you want a rabid crowd. Fans aren't going to be going nuts in the stands over this team who has, for the time being, turned into an utter embarassment.
