He IS an absolute top-tier beast! He just set the franchise record for rushing yards! As I said above, I just don't understand how you can tell him that was enough. I watched the game too--He ran his ass off in my book. I think it's kind of arrogant to declare that he isn't innocent because you think he doesn't try hard enough (which seems to me to be the crux of your criticism); I don't see that at all.

And yeah, criticizing Thomas Jones right now is absolutely worthy of the list. I usually think you're a very good poster, I just don't get this.

On a day when the wind isn't swirling, and our rookie QB isn't getting picked off multiple times? You keep running until it doesn't work anymore.

    Just ask Miami.

Bolded for emphasis on where you show understanding of my point.

Doesn't really matter anyway, TJ is gone after this season.

    Holy fuck.

I think maybe some people need to make the attempt to actually read the whole first post. Why is this about a criticism of Thomas Jones that I even made last week? Especially since I've defended him when NO FUCKING ONE ELSE ON THIS BOARD WOULD.

I don't blame Jones for this loss. At all. All I fucking said was that if he would fight more he'd get more yards. That goes for every damn game he has played as a New York Jet.

But ignore everything else since you clearly have nothing else to add on the subject. Fucking unreal. Does Jones taste good?

How can anyone bash Jones today? Listen, I don't like Jones. In fact, I've been one of his biggest bashers. But, today? The guy ran with a purpose all game...his burst looked fantastic and he was breaking some tackles, my main criticism of him. He played great.

And people, you can't give 3 rbs significant carries!!! I simply don't understand it....what 3rd rb in the league gets carries? Stop calling for Greene to get touches, my god. If he gets more carries, then Leon loses some. Leon is playing well, imo, he's just not getting tds.

I agree with you about Schottenheimer he isn't managing the offense well. I hate the relationship he seems to have with Sanchez. Schotty sits with Sanchez on the bench between series whispering sweet nothings in Sanchez ear while Sanchez just kind of rolls his eyes and looks away. It's like Favre last year, where basically Schotty would be trying to tell Favre something, and Favre would just have a look on his face like, "yea okay buddy. You don't know what the fuck you're talking about." There doesn't seem to be much respect.

I think you're off your rocker on the TJ Shonn Greene issue. TJ was averaging 18 yds a carry at one point. I think they should mix up the backfield, but you're wrong about TJ not fighting for yds, the guy was literally our offensive attack for the day. Thank God the New York Jets have Thomas Jones.

We have weapons on this offense that are not being used properly. I know the wind and weather was a factor. I think the Jets should have stuck to the ground much more. Screen pass, something.

Thanks to Alio for posting an educated, clued-in assessment of the game.

There should be a multi-stage registration process for this site. Registering should allow people to read threads. Posting and creating threads should require people to complete and pass knowledge quizzes so they don't embarrass themsleves.

Your point makes no sense. If the defense played harder we would have more sacks. If Kris Jenkins played harder, he would get more tackles. If Adrian Peterson fought harder, he would get more yards. We read your post, but your point is so obvious it's pointless

Perhaps. It may not be in TJ's nature to be scrappy. From his time in NY, it doesn't seem like it.

Exactly. Not everyone can be Jerome bettis and carry blockers on their backs for 4 or 5 yards on every run. TJ isn't really a bruiser, but the OP magically expects him to be because TJ has big arms?

Calm down...You made a good post, I just really object to that one point--You can make that argument about anyone: Sanchez doesn't fight enough. Revis doesn't try hard enough to break up plays. I don't understand how you can make that judgment about Jones.

    Not a huge deal.

You guys don't get it. Adrian Peterson fight for more yards on every carry. Kris Jenkins plays like a beast on just about every snap. Thomas Jones pussy-foots behind the line and gets brought down by a light breeze. That's just how he plays. Yes he had a great game, but he's not an elite back.

So your problem with Jones is that he is not an elite back? No kidding, dude. He does have positive attributes though (consistent, reliable, and good in pass protection). If your gripe is that TJ will never be Adrian peterson, I'm sorry but I don't know what to tell you

No, I like TJ, I'm just saying he pussy-foots on a lot of runs. I said he's not an elite back in response to:

We can all agree, without Jenkins, there is a huge drop off. They simply cant let this position go much longer without a viable backup. I will agree with the fact that with bad weather, WR corps turned upside-down from 2 weeks ago, running game was clicking & we have a young QB- thats a bad recipe for tossing down field. MS just did not look like himself today...not sure about that. The defense though I was not really happy with. They did OK, but the fact that their back up QB was playing for the 1rst time this year I believe, and he was having some success out there did not set well with me. Edwards marched them down the field for 3 points...wasnt that all they scored against the Browns? When we were 3/4 the way through OT, I had to agree with the bumbling announcers comment..Does anyone want to win this game?
