I dunno. I'm not paid to know this stuff, yet I know much more about the rules than the vast majority of announcers. If it's your job to know the rules and you don't... It's not like that one was an obscure rule that never comes into play. Yeah, that's worse, but it sort of concerns the same point about the announcers not understanding the concept of "possession".
If the balls under him I have no issue with the ground causing the fumble. If the ball doesn't hit the ground I don't see how the ground caused the ball to come out unless it was out.
Hahaha. I give Verne a pass because of that voice. You don't get many newer PBP guys with those kind of pipes.
Favre has done nothing today. When he's been called upon to make a play, he hasn't done it. He hasn't had to, though. 17-3 Vikings
I'm under the impression that if the collision between the runner and the ground jars it loose, it's no fumble, and not that the ball itself needs to hit the ground and get knocked out.
Yea, that wasn't the case though. The ball was already loose, so the ground didn't cause it. It just made the fumble more obvious...
Pinned to the body doesn't really mean loose though. It's very subjective ground and I can see this sort of going in circles for a while.
I immediately thought of the late 90s/early 00s version of Pat Summerall after that Lundquist gaffe yesterday. He got confused for a moment there, can't throw his fastball in the 90s anymore.
It wasn't out of his possession. Haven't we had enough of this by now? A call was made on the field and it was not reversed. Move on with your life.
Did you not watch their first two drives? As much as I hate Brett Favre, he was excellent on their first two scores. They are playing the Baltimore Ravens. I'm sure it's a lot harder to move the ball on them than it is against most teams.
This could've been considered the two best games of the week, but they're both blowouts. Ravens just connected on a long completion to Heap. Ravens need a TD.
