I still think it a good idea. Miami's offense would have beaten the Jets d no matter when they got the ball Monday. BFD if Rex wanted to set a tone early. The Jets D flat out sucked Monday, it happens.

I feel the same way. Sometimes, I feel like we'd be better off getting the ball early against certain teams to try and get out to an early lead, but if we can get our defense playing like they did in the first few games, it shouldn't matter.

I love that he does that. Very Parcells like.

I ALWAYS want to kick off, I prefer getting the ball to begin the 2nd half. Therte's no guarantee we'll score first just b/c we win the toss and when you get the ball first and don't score it is demoralizing.

I think deferring to the 2nd half is a smart idea. Usually teams D come out emotional for the first drive.

I have no problem with it. The Jets are a team lead by their defense (despite their epic meltdown this past monday night) and Rex always wants his defense to set the tone early. Also, I love the Jets getting the ball to start the second half.
