Braylon did much better then I expected, he did not look confused at all but looked as if hes been a part of our offense for a couple months already.
A drop should only be considered a drop if it was a completely catch-able ball that there is no way he should have dropped. Give the guy a break here, he had an amazing debut. If he starts dropping easy ones then commence in the "he drops ball" complaining. As I am writing this im starting to get angry at you....did u even see that "TD" catch he had, I mean jesus. The one above was a tough catch.
this move kind of has a jack parkman feeling to it with him having a great game and everyone else playing like shit. in the pic cotchery is like fuck im no longer the number 1.
I'm sick of everyone saying Braylon dropped that interference pass. There's only a handful of receivers in the league who can make that catch and Braylon is one of them. He happened to drop that one, but c'mon guys, the level of difficulty on that catch was at least an 8. He was being blanketed. The top guys can't make top catches every time.
His body control is UNREAL. He reminds me of Vince Carter the way he make his body do the best it can in mid air to come up with any catch with his feet in bounds. Raiderjoe can't even argue if he is good or not.. 6'3,215 4.40 40 38 inch vertical He also scored a 27 on the Wonderlic test, The average for a Wide Receiver is 17..(average for a QB is 24)
One of those was a huge 50 yard reception, so take that out and he had 3 receptions for 22 yards. He still needs to prove that he handle the NFL regular season.
i agree he needs to prove more and prove he can contribute consistently. but in all reality if he gets at least 1 of those catches a game he'll be doing his job. yeah just take out that 50 yard catch that led to points for us. completely meaningless dont get the logic. although I think we can all agree we need to see this from him every week.
as far as the original post goes Ive been telling people he will have an impact faster than people think and it showed. he justified the trade instantly. this will help sanchez grow ALOT. will open up the entire offense also.
lol wut? did u watch the game? of those 3 since that 50 yd pass was apparently meaningless, one was on a screen that got blown up, and two were in a 2 minute drill to get the ball into FG range
Yep, whether it was a 2 yard toss or a 50 yard bomb, he had 4 balls thrown his way and caught every one of them...what more can you ask? As for Edwards, he made some great catches and his presence kept their defense busy. If it was just Cotch and Stucky on the field, they probably would have shut down our run game too. The positive effects on the offense far outway some dropped balls. This kids not even here a week and has this kind of impact on a game? Sign me up!!
He wasn't blanketed. He had a step and was open. An elite WR (Jennings, Wayne, A/C Johnson, etc.) makes that catch. I think Edwards belongs in that elite category, so maybe I hold him to a higher standard. Was it tough? Absolutely. But regardless of the fact that he made at least 3 other spectacular catches, he should have had that one as well. I'd feel a lot better if he didn't have a history of drops, but based on the rest of his night night, I'm not worrying too much about it.
Even before the MNF game, Browns fans were saying that Edwards can make those circus catches when he wants to. His main issue, however, is catching the easy 3rd and 6 crossing patterns or out route at 1 pm on Sundays v. the Bills or Raiders. Physically, Edwards is probably a top 3?5 talent (behind Megatron, A. Johnson, Moss, and maybe a guy like Wayne). His problem is concentrating in small situations. Hopefully the change of scenery resolves all that.
How is anyone even considering taking a swipe at Edwards or Clowney after Monday's game?? They were probably the two brightest spots we had. It's ridiculous. Edwards played as well as anyone could have expected less than a week after joining the squad and Clowney made the most of every opportunity he had - just as everyone here has been asking for. What more could you want from these two?
I'm very excited about the Clown's performance. If he keeps developing we will have two legitimate deep threats, plus Cotch.
Trade of the Year 2008: Kris Jenkins Trade of the Year 2009: Braylon Edwards 2 3rds, 2 5ths, Stuckey, Trusnik. I'll take it/
