This is a statement game for this New York Jets team. I just heard Mark Shlaerith (however its spelled) and Hermy Edwards pick Miami over the Jets. "I really like this Miami Offensive Line" Blah Blah Blah!!!!! And of course they love the Wildcat. WTF? I guess I just don't understand . KICK ASS AND TAKE NAMES JETS 34 DOLFAGS 6
The term 'statement game' is thrown around every week. Let's just put it this way: it's a division game, it's Monday Night Football. The motivation is there regardless of scenario. I fully expect us to win this game.
Here's a statement I'd like to see Bart Scott & Co. make.
Cmon the Wildcat offense is that scary to Shlearith and Herpese Edwards? Wildcat doesnt even sound scary... If they called it a WildDawg then maybe id be scared a bit. Shlearith knows how to make his hair n goattee but football? Only thing they have equal or comparable weapons to ours is the running backs. Thats it! How is Henne (rookie) better than our rookie qb Sanchez? Sanchez has played more NFL football reg season correct? Our receivers with Edwards are better. Keller is the better TE of the teams. We have one the best ST's! Do I have to mention our defense is better? I wonder if Shlearith n Edwards even watch football sometimes, esp Shlearith Sanchez has a better arm, speed, footwork, and most importantly team!
I am getting worried. Lets face it, we have a rookie QB and we don't know how he's gonna play. The Dolphins and the Jets are kinda in the same boat, rookie QB, good defense but they can run better then us. I am counting on our OL being better, WR's are better and our defense should be better. Desperate team, division game, first Monday night game for Mark and on the road. We can NOT turn the ball over.
I wouldn't necessarily say a "Statement game" doesn't fit! The offense can make a statement that they haven't made previously. Teams have had time to study Sanchez's tendencies and mechanics and our protection schemes. Maybe New Orleans has opened a window for other teams to follow and trip up our Boy wonder. The defense can make a statement by knocking these pricks off their high horse and handle them the way they are supposed to. Braylon Edwards can also make a statement by way of hauling in multiple catches and burning them deep the way an elite WR is supposed to. I will agree that the word gets tossed around a lot , but this could very well be a statement game for us and put the rest of the NFL on notice. "Here come the Jets!!!:jets:
I know one player does not make a team, but I think with Bart Scott there will not be any entire game let downs and the Jets will always be aggressive on D. With Harris and Scott running will not be easy (with Jenkins in the middle) for any team playing the Jets. The reason I mention Scott is because he doesn't know about the Jets past first hand or the rivalry with Miami. He came from the Ravens where you play hard and tough no matter who your playing. I think that mentality is rubbing off on Rhodes, Revis, Harris, Thomas etc.
What's all this sissy ass "I'm worried" shit? Have you guys seen the Phins play? Have you seen the Jets play? WTF makes you think this team won't be prepared? They've been prepared the past 4 weeks, against better opponents that all the experts said we'd lose to. If reality was spawned from their words, we'd be 0-4 right now. Fuck that, we're 3-1 and 2 mistakes away by our rookie QB from being 4-0. We knew he was going to have shit games...it was inevitable. Run game...blah blah blah. Bullshit. Look at the individual match-ups of the two teams and nothing is in their favor. The only thing left is preparation and execution. Sorry but with the exception of Sanchez getting pressured by a massive pass rush, he's been pretty good for this team. Jets 27 miami a big fucking 0 Edit: Calvin Pace anyone?
We should be stacking the box all game and not sending more than 4 (occassionally 5 guys) on the pass rush. Neutralize the run, take away the wildcat. They can't pass deep. None of their receivers deserve more than man coverage. Get a few choice turnovers, put Sanchez is the position where he only has to do a few good things to score, give Leon the ball more than 10 times and the Jets will win.
I don't care if they are the wildcat, wild dawg or wild phins. Jets will send a rocket (Bart Scott) right down the middle and phins will be bleeding for the rest of the season!
I know you are worried. You are worried about every game, even if we played the Lions. We maybe in the same boat as Dolphins, having a rookie QB (1 yr, no NFL time = pretty rookie), good D etc. Their Head Coach has a one yrs exp. Big deal. They can run the ball. Good for them cuz they certainly can't pass it and definitely not against our secondary. Their WRs? I would take Justin McFuckmyhands before I look at Ted Shit Junior. Here's where we excel and they don't. Their QB has one yrs worth of bench warming experience. Compare him against Sanchez and it seems like Sanchez is a pro. Yeah he had a bad day last weekend, but I don't expect that every week. Every QB has a bad day. Saints D is pretty good if u ask me. Their blitz packages are very creative. Who, BTW have picked the QBs 10 times in 4 games. Whatever. But, Miami Passing D ranks 24th in the NFL. 3 picks, 5 tds, and a passer rating of almost 90. Jets allow a passer rating of 56, and that too against elite QBs such as Schaub, Brady, and Brees. Chad Henne can probably manage the game, but he certainly isn't going to play lights out. If your QB is passing for 115 yards in a game, your running game better be working! We stopped their "wildcat" offense last yr and we'll roll over their lousy asses this yr. 49 yards rushing in the first game, and 126 yards rushing in the second game last yr. They better find a way to kick that up to 200 yards rushing else their 100 odd passing yards isn't going to bring them a victory. And its not even going to be close.
Calvin Pace and Bart Scott are going to make a statement this game. With another skilled LB next to Bart the sacks will come. For the first 4 games people had to watch Bart Scott and thats it because they knew gholston cancels himself out of every play. Cant wait for monday. If for some reason you miss the game dont look at the box score check the miami obituaries.
Doesn't every one? I want the Jets to play their next 12 games in the next 36 hours and start the 2010 season right after
Care to make it interesting? I get the Dolphins and 27 points. The loser uses the other teams logo as their avatar until the second game.
