I guess Darrelle Revis isn't going to be bored in practice anymore.

Say what you want about Braylon's hands or concentration, but this guy is a superior route runner and he's very physically gifted. As good as Revis is, he's got someone on the team that will now keep him on his toes and ready for top levels of competition. This can only make Revis better.

And will also help guys like Lowery and Sheppard as well.

In turn, it can only help Braylon to be pressed and challenged by Revis each day as well.

very good point..it will keep revis from getting bored and lazy during practice that could translate over to games but now with edwards there he will have a top guy to compete against day in and days out.

but we are talking about revis here so he should have no problem covering edwards during practice but he is must better competition in practice then stuckey or smith would be

also having revis covering him is only going to make edwards better at his route running and learning how to get seperation from corners

revis gave up a TD to Edwards in his rookie year, the same year Edwards had an all world year.

It was also a circus one-handed catch that not even our Lord Revis Christ could defend.

it'll make them both better, especially Edwards. He has to go against a guy who will push him during practice as well. braylon's mental issues can be cleared up with the family this team has become.

    its looks awesome on paper.

Wasn't one of the Cleveland fans criticisms of Edwards that he runs sloppy routes?

Win-win situation. They are both superior performers, and we depend on both to make impact plays. Working against Darrelle has to get Edwards up to game speed quicker as well.

There's a difference between 'getting sloppy with your routes' and 'running sloppy routes'. The latter signifies that a player (i.e. Matt Jones) doesn't know the technique to run a solid route. The former signifies that he knows but doesn't try as hard. They probably meant the former but said the latter. I've seen Edwards run razor sharp routes before, he is capable and knows how to do it well. He seems to have stopped caring as much to do it in Ohio.

What we are gambling on here is that the guy lost discipline and motivation in Cleveland. He has the ability and the knowledge and the technique already.

Might have been a fan just squaking. Edwards runs great routes.

The Two big raps on him were, his drops, 16 last year. Off field behavior.

It?s funny about his drops he didn?t do it at Michigan. Have to wonder if he just lost interest with the Browns.

The off field stuff is something that bears watching in NYC

Good to know about the routes. I don't watch much Browns football save the highlights. So I don't watch much Browns football.

I wouldn't be worried about off-field stuff .. he's been in the league, what, 5 years? And all he's got is a speeding ticket.

    great post.

and yes guys, he runs GREAT routes. his size/speed ratio is ridiculous and he dominates jump balls.

his drops are a lack of focus and he said it best in his press conference in reference to his WR coach at Mich preaching basics of looking it in, tucking it, then running.

alot of his drops hes trying to move without the ball or seems to be thinking of it cause theyre on simple short to intermediate routes where theres enough room for him to pull it in.

the guy makes circus catches that we havent seen in a long time (with the exception of the Cotchery catch, roll and run for a TD against the Pats a yr or two ago)

Point in case, great original post by Abyz, very great point. Edwards in effect makes our whole defense practice better especially if it opens up the run for us on game day itll keep our defense on its toes in practice too.

I'm not gonna get angry or worried if he has some early drops, although most Jets fans will be like "see this is why you dont make such a trade in the middle of the year" and then theyll start looking for numbers stuckey will put up in garbage times of future CLE losses.

I love having Edwards here and think he will play his ass off cause

A)he seems like he genuinely wants to be here. hell, if I went from a 1-3 sinking ship to a 3-1 team in a new upbeat regime id go nuts if i were him

B)he wants to win now and worry about his money later, thats what success does for players.

When this guy focuses and plays his game I put only Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, and Fitzgerald ahead of him....he's that good. (Maybe Randy Moss when motivated)

^ those 4 are above Edwards when he is at his best because they've done it for so long.

The fact that Braylon can be a top 5 WR if his mind is right is fantastic for a rookie QB.

when sanchez gets more experience - skys the limit.

From his 2007 season, that is probably a fair assessment.
