The point is which do you prefer, Dline or Oline. It seems to me that a good defense will usually slow down a good offense. Not sure if Ellis/Abe compare to brick/Mangold quite yet, but give me Ellis and Abe.
Both the OL and DL are critical. Therefore I rate them equally valuable. Without a line in front of you playmakers need to fend for themselves on both sides of the ball.
I dont really consider Brick/Mangold a "Tandem", I think to be considered a tandem you have to play the same position. Like Fabini/McKenzie, Abe/Ellis, Rhodes/Coleman, etc
it doesnt matter cuz weve yet to see two of them play in the pros. and furthermore it wouldnt matter which is more valuable teams that win a SB would have all of them in their own right, saying Mawae and Fabini seemed just as potent 3 yrs ago when we still had Ellis and Abraham. this is just a offense or defense debate hidden with jets players names IMO. point is every player matters cuz it takes one mistake to lose
The only choice would not be a tandem, but rather Abe or Mangold. Abe 6 yrs/$45M ($13.5M up front & $25.5M over first 3 yrs) Mangold should be slightly higher than last year's #29 pick (Marlin Jackson: 5 yrs/$7M with $4.7M in guarantees)
DBrick/Mangold over Ellis/Abe (I got your post just fine). While Ellis/Abe getting a sack is (was) sweet, watching Pennington walk off the field with a victory and a clean uniform will be even sweeter.
i dunno about off the field.. but his jersey will be clean. but then again how can you get dirty when your waving a towel.
