If I was Mangini, barring any surprises in training camp, I'd send Chad, Curtis, D'Brick, Vilma, Schlegel and Erik Coleman out there for the flips. A nice mix of the new and the old, the guys who have lead in the past and the guys who will lead in the future. Who would you send?
Martin, Vilma, Ellis, Penny, Kendall, just a few just a thought, might not be a good one. but Van Oelhoffen? i know hes a first yr player for the team, but the guy was a core player from a hardnose team that just won a SB. plus he can sew all our DL and LB jersey's so they cant be held. haha
I really don't see how Chad can be a captain. You need to be on the field to be a leader at the QB position. If Ramsey is starting, the entire offense needs to be in his command. I could see Martin and Kendall on offense, Vilma and Ellis on D. I wouldn't have Coleman as a captain as I would be surprised if he is still the starter by the end of the season
we need a captain from the cheer leading/ towel waving squad as well as o and d.......nah, in all honesty i believe that if he is playing he needs to be the captain, he is a great leader even if he is injury prone by the way, who do you think will be our starting safetys?
J Ville, Chadillac, Barton, Kendall, Coleman, Curtis My Favorite Martin I see people putting Ellis, but he is sort of a soft spoken guy, I like the captains that can pump the team up and be leaders, I dotn see Ellis as that type of guy.
barton's not a bad choice....a player no one mentioned that i personally like is david barett....he always has high intensity and gets everyone pumped up on d
Chad Pennington Jonathan Vilma Curtis Martin Shaun Ellis Kerry Rhodes Eric Barton Tails never Fails! heh
I'm always the believer that the team should pick the captains, not the coach. Other than that, who cares anyway?
6 captains seems like too many. Vilma or Ellis are obviously the leaders of the defense. Not sure about offense, maybe Curits/Chad/Brick or Mangold(don't know if they are leaders?). And of course my boy Nuge! So Vilma, Brick and Nugent.
How many captains are you supposed to have? Somehow I think 6 is too many. I think Martin, Kendall and Vilma are definates but besides Vilma none of them seem like they could pump up a team.
Suprised no one mentioned Laverneous Coles. Him or Curtis for the offense. John Vilma or Sean Ellis on the defense. I think captains should be somewhat mainstays and not rookies.
I don't recall ever seeing more than 2 guys out for the flip. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's all I ever recall seeing. That said, Martin and Vilma. Honestly, I don't think ANYone else deserves the honor, not YET at least.
definetly penny, he needs that kind of confidence if he is going to play. We need him to feel like an off the field leader for these guys. and he plays that role very well
