wasn't a fan of the multiple slant calls. wasn't a fan of 3d and short passing plays (this is like shotty's modus opperandi).
other than that i think most of it lies wtih the o-line and sanchez. not saying shotty is exempt. but hte playcalling wasn't the worst we've seen.

Sharper had Sanchez's number. And they were getting pressure.

Plays weren't executed well, and there were about 5 plays that were a little odd.

The Saints called shitty plays too on offense. Its not like the entire scheme for the game was awful. Certain points weren't great. That's football.

Sanchez played bad, and played bad early on, we all know that. But when our defense stepped it up time and time again, Schottenheimer had terrible play calling that put us at a big disposition to win this game.

I firmly believe that if we had run the ball hard this game (20 touches for jones and washington each) we would have won the game.. Our defense was amazing, and running the ball on our offense would have kept them fresh. Jones/Washington + Our offensive line are our best offensives options against a smaller defense like New Orleans... We were getting penetration and Jones looked good.. Plus why did we abandon the Seminole? If we had taken the ball out of the rooks hands early we would have been 10-10 going down the stretch and probably would have been wearing their defense out in the process.. We should not be relying on a rookie so much in a big game like this, you know the hiccups are going to happen; I just do not understand why you'd put the ball in a rookie qb with ball security problems hands when you have such a good stable of RBs.

It was bad yes some stuff was a Sanchez mistake, the first INT, that was all Sanchez, but the play calling was horrendous. Does anyone know if Sanchez is allowed to audible out of the play. Schotty went back to his shitty play calling it was so miserable.

Also, what was with Thomas Jones dancing on the line of scrimage I wanted to punch him hes a freaking 220 lb wrecking ball and he thinks hes Leon.

Also the drops in this game were crazy I mean Sanchez may have not made a like super awesome throw but these would be right in the hands and then they would drop it, unbelievable

Can we please give some credit to the Nawlins defense? Our D makes plays forcing other teams out of the rythym like last weeks with 13 straight incompletions. Greg Williams forced Schotty to call the game the way he did. Yes our calls weren't the best but give credit when it is due. I said all week these guys would be the best team we played all year and I think they will beat the Giants in 2 weeks.

its hard to throw down the field when ur offensive line decides not to pass block.

This was an all around awful gm for the offense. it just wasnt sancez's fault or the oline's fault, or the oc's fault. collectivly they just werent ready for greg williams defense who absolutley ripped us to shreads.

yeah the D played pretty well, but then again, when you have the talent the Jets have you expect more, obviously this is not the crappy D that the Saints had a few years ago but when you have the talent that we have you just expect more. You expect people to take advantage of the talent, Schotty did not do that

The question is do we have all this talent that people think we have. We have had good play from the QB position but after the 1st quarter last week his play has been suspect. Jones appears to have really lost that step and this hurts Leon. I'm not on the Greene bandwagon because he can't stay healthy. Keller is beast but you have to get him the ball and Cotch is on an island because we really don't have a solid #2. Our line should have played better than it did tonight but that's the strength of the O. If they play like garbage our team is going to struggle.

What I see is an OC who is scared to take chances. Where were the shots down field? All those quick outs are pathetic. Sanchez cost us this game but Shotty prevented us from getting back into it.

Sanchez had no time today...we didn't run the ball well. Sanchez looked like a rookie today and our offense was outplayed. Not crazy about the playcalling, but it was far from the worst I've seen. As others have said, just poor execution today and well played by NO.

The only offensive playcall that I thought was profoundly bad was the run on 3rd down after two successful run plays when the Jets really needed a score.

My beef is that we were playing not to lose instead of playing to win.

IMHO, the best thing coaching staff could have done after Mark threw the pick six to Sharper was go right back out and let him take another shot down the field. If nothing else, it would have shown Mark that Schotty still had confidence in him.

As long as we keep the "training wheels" on #6, we will continue to see 8 and 9 guys in the box and continue to have a struggling rushing attack. Sanchez is a rookie, and as such, he's going to have some growing pains, no doubt. It's to be expected and we all knew this game was coming sooner or later. But I firmly believe that Schottenheimer's playcalling held Mark back today.
