I agree to certain extent, Pace will certainly help with this. Houston faced the Titans after us and there rush D is tops in the league, against the Jags Slaton had about 80 yards, and as a team almost had 130 yards.

There is room for improvement but it's not like opponents are embarrassing us.

Overall, the jets D is top of league so far, no doubt. The Saints are gonna be a big test, maybe the best O in the league. Gonna be a great game.

Miami with Chad Henne at QB is not a good football team. The effect of their running game will be completely nullified by the lack of any passing game. It is not only that Henne is inexperienced and really just not all that good. The recievers on Miami are awful. Those chumps have trouble holding on to passes from Pennington who throws the most catchable ball in the NFL. The Jets will stop the Dolphins run game and force them to pass. That game will be over by halftime.

Miami has played a much tougher schedule than we have to date. It's not even comparable. Thigpen could be dangerous in that O and their D is very good against the run.

I think we have a great shot to win the next two but it wouldn't shock me to see us 3 and 2 after Miami either. Neither of these games are against the real dregs of the league and a bounce one way or another is the difference between a win and a lose.

It only appears they played a much harder schedule because of how well we did against the teams we played and how much they sucked against the teams they played. If you look at how all of these teams were supposed to do this year then it was at least even.

Wrong we beat one good team the Pat's that was banged up big time on both sides of the ball. The Titans have given away two games on special teams which have been outright awful. If Fisher puts an experienced guy who can field a kick they beat us by two scores and are 2 and 1.

The Fins have faced three of the NFL's best QB's three weeks in a row and have controlled the clock, run the ball and have been beaten badly over the top on big pass plays. The records of the teams they have faced are on a different planet from what we have faced.

Winston, normally I agree with most things you say.............

There is no way in hell the Fins schedule was appreciably more difficult then what the Jets have had. On the surface of things the Jets first 4 games was supposed to be the most difficult 1/4 of their schedule.

The Fins have looked like utter shit in most phases of the game. The only phase where they are any good is the run game. Yet they could have and should have beaten Indy soundly because Indy is about the most 1 dimensional, most poorly defensively coached team I have seen in decades.

While they were in the game with a mediocre, insanely banged up, Charger team , they (Fins) were not very good at all. The Chargers have been equally as lucky as Tennessee has been unlucky. The Chargers can easily be 1-2 or 0-3 like the Oilers (lol). Look @ their Cupcake schedule. (not counting the Ravens)

The only team that the Jets have played that is below what the Fins have played is Houston and really how far below the Chargers and Indy are they? Not much at all.

Sorry but I am not buying the schedule argument you are selling....... The Fins are downright awful on defense, passing game and their special teams. Last year the Fins played a cupcake schedule with a really smart cupcake QB that made quite a living beating teams like that. The Fins just aren't a very good team. In fact, I am willing to bet they will end up with a record very similar to the 2007 Jets, if not worse!

They have zero playmakers on their entire team not named Brown or Williams.

I fail to see what advantage the Fins have on the Jets, other then the old adage "On any given Sunday".

Who said they had an advantage? They have an excellent run game and an excellent run defense. Theit run game is on a different planet from ours.

They have faced Manning, Rivers and Ryan. We have faced one good QB Brady and a banged up NE team. We were outplayed at home on both sides of the ball last week. We won last weeks game because TN return man got a case of the gips and couldn't field the ball.

Miami has faced 3 teams that are likely to go to the playoffs. We have faced one team likely to go to the playoffs that was missing several key starters on both sides of the ball and has a great QB who is clearly not at the level he was before he went down.

I think we have more talent. Miami, like us won last year because they have a great running attack and a better D than most of us give them credit for. The loss of Pennington probably does make them worse against the NFL's mediocre but it doesn't necessarily make them worse if Henne or Thigpen step up and add a true downfield element to that team which makes them far more dangerous on any given Sunday.

The Jets have been 3 & O 4 times before and made the playoffs once in 04. It's very early in the season and bitch slapping a Houston team that had no film and a fragile QB unable to deal with pressure and a NE team missing key elements all over doesn't prove we are a great team yet.

Lets see us beat up NO today facing our first really good healthy NFL QB.

I am not saying the Jets are great. That wasn't the argument. I am saying you are really over rating the Fins and their schedule. They are not that very good.

The Jets sure played a banged up Pats team, then again look @ San Diego and tell me who is more banged up?

The Fins defense is not very good. Their secondary is both young and weak where they are not young. Their ILB's couldn't cover a cadaver (yes Crowder/Ayondele (sp)) and their OLB's are as old as electricity and have lost a step. Their front 3 is servicable @ this point. Where are they going to make the big plays in this group? Unless Taylor and Porter suddenly come alive.

I agree though, this thread is probably about the dumbest thread you can possibly make in the face of what should be a great game against the best team the Jets will face for maybe the entire season.

I look at the NFL as basically a league that's full of mediocre or if you prefer a league of parity. Today there are 7 teams that are 3 and 0 and 7 teams that are 0 and 3. Out of the 7 0 and 3 teams there are 4 tomota cans The Browns, Chiefs, Rams and Bucs. Carolian, TN and the Dolphins are capable of beating any team that isn't a true elite team.

Now I would bet out of the 7 3 & 0 teams Jets, Ravens, Colts, Bronco's, Giants, Vikings and Saints there are at least 3 teams that at the end of the year aren't going to be in the elite class.

If the Jets are one of the elite teams they are going to show us a big time game today.

It is also more likely that there may be a 2 and 1 team or a one and 2 team that is standing among the elite at the end than any of us think and that a slew of the 3 & 0 teams are going to fall back to the pack.

Well here we can most definitely agree. Looking @ the list of 3-0 teams and discounting the Jets because of bias (lol) 3 of the 6 teams I would guarantee are not elite teams, even at this point. In my mind the Colt's, Bronco's and Vikings will regress more towards the mean and possibly the Ravens as their defense is not nearly as good as it used to be, although Flacco might be something special.

About the Jets, I think their elite status will come in later years, when Sanchez becomes accustomed to the NFL and Ryan hones his craft. One thing is for sure is that the staff makes adjustments on the fly unlike last year. Anyway, I think the Jets have a ways to go on Offense to be considered elite. My guess is they win somewhere around 11 games. Is that Elite? not sure, but it is certainly a good start.

I still think we will hear something from the Steelers and maybe some from this list...... Bengals , Chi, Green Bay , Atlanta , Tenn (if they get their act together) maybe someone else sneaks in.

I'm discounting the last game against game against the Bills cause that was flukey...but..

do you realize the last time we bounced back from a loss was the KC game (which we almost lost), after that horrible loss to Oakland?
