OK, so what happens if Patriots win, and we lose? Back to square one? This game should have nothing to do with the Patsies. But if they lose and we win, there really isn't another better feeling than that (except, u know).

I have the same feeling. But not because Baltimore's D is overrated. They have definitely taken a step back in effectiveness - I think they may be missing Ryan's schemes a lot, but it's mostly the same set of playmakers.

It just seems to me like classic Pats, to step up and win this game. Brady will probably play out of his mind.

For what it's worth, despite the OP declaring the Baltimore game a "likely loss" for New England, the Pats are 2 point favorites in Vegas.

I agree that we'll probably see classic Pats. One of the things they've done so well over the years is exploit weaknesses and they'll exploit the Baltimore defense in a way that no other team has been able to so far.

As much as people are thinking shootout for Jets and Saints, I can actually see a shootout being more likely for Pats and Ravens.

I think the Jets and Saints will be surprisingly low scoring... I don't think either team will exceed 29 in our game.

Can't claim 40 years (only 27), but...I felt exactly the same...this has a different feel. Even the 5-0 start didn't feel real, I always felt it would go wrong...this time, I believe it will go right. Not that we'll go 19-0, but that we are the real deal. We know it, the players know it, the coaches know it, and most of all the NFL knows it. And doesn't it feel bloody great?!:jets:

I never really liked the argument of "This team is losing, so a win for this team would be huge!" That means that a win means more if the other team loses. It doesn't. In fact, you could argue that a win means more when the other team wins so you keep pace with them and don't lose ground.

No matter who the Patriots played this week, we just have to keep chugging and winning as many games as possible. It's still too early to make any definitive statements about the standings anyway.

3 of 5 teams that were 3-0 didn't make the playoffs last year.

People thought the first Patriots game last year was huge, and we lost. Then we beat them in New England to take the division lead, and people forgot about the first game. Then we choked down the stretch and missed the playoffs entirely.

Regardless of other teams' results, we just have to win.

    ANY GIVEN SUNDAY!

While the Pats can possibly lose there is no way I am going to put it in stone either way for either team

Most certainly this is not a must win for the Jets. It would be great to be 2 games up on New England only 1/4 of the way through the season, but this is clearly not a must win game. I'm really looking forward to seeing this defense against the Saints offense, and I'm really looking forward to seeing the offense continue to develope and maybe even spring 30 or more on NO. But really, a non conference away game in early October is not a critical situation. I'm really looking forward to a win but I won't be the least bit bothered by loss on this one. If I had a choice between winning this game or beating NE at home later this season I'll take the win at NE.

listen, if you think jet fans are excited now, if we win this week, things are going to be shithouse, regardless of what the pats do.
